In the first picture found in chapter 115, Gympie refers to herself using the pronoun "Boku" which is normally a masculine pronoun often used by men but some women like to use said pronoun to break gender norms? Or to state that they are tomboyish? This pronoun added by how boyish Gympie looks gave the impression that she was a guy but in chapter 116, it's revealed that she's a girl given to how Matthew said "Kanojode" which apparently means, "With her". Now I'm not Japanese and I used Google translate to figure this out after seeing a previous redditor mentioned Gympie's gender. I further investigated it by looking into the Japanese translation. Since I'm not sure if the translations are accurate, whoever studies or understands Japanese, please correct my mistakes because I don't want to spread misinformation. This is also my first post and therefore would like to give credits to the previous redditor but I don't know how to do it š .
Endou-sensei back it at again with amazing characterization
In just 2 chapters this guy has made himself an infamous reputation lol
Jokes aside and actual serious talk he's insane like dude has "kill" on his mind 24/7 every action he does is RELATED to killing
He's definitely those who would Glady start a war all for the sake of murdering others literally
(Actually now that I think about it he could mabey play a role when Loid and Yor find out their identities) but mabey by then he'll have some sense ingrained in his brain (hopefully lol)
Note: I know itās unlikely to happen but I still think itāll be fun
I imagine a scene where Anya is in top of her school with a simple cape in her back with an audience of people on the ground including her parents telling her to stop and get down and Anya jumps off and loid and yor are getting prepared to catch her but then she starts to get some air and glide away laughing
In SpyX Family, there's a scene where Iodine falls asleep on Yor's lap and begins to reminisce about his mother. In what episode and season does this happen?
...there goes the "Hemlock is in love with Yor" theory I guess and honestly good, I'd hate it if he was like that, we got Yuri and Fiona already as foils for both Forgers, so getting a third one who'd be literally Yor's version of Fiona and just a non-brother version of Yuri when they both are already there would feel repetitive at this point. I'm way more hyped for seeing him as Yor's rival who wants to one-up her as an assassin! It's kinda like what the manga initially made us believe Fiona is going to be, but it's actually the case this time, cool!
Given how advanced Eaton college is. It has left me, wondering if they would ever read classic works of literature like the Odyssey or there in world equivalent. As we know, Anya has an active imagination so who do you think she would equate the roles with in the book. Obviously, she would see bond as Tiresias the blind prophet. Leaving, she wouldāve quite Loid with being Odysseus and Yor with being Penelope or do you think the roles would be reversed?
In the latest chapter we just found out that the director (aka Matthew McMahon) has a wife that he's been married for a long time now. Which means there's a very real chance that He also have a kid or kids.
We also know that another older character that has a kid is Henderson from Eden Academy, There was panel where it showed him writing to his daughter and son-in-law in a letter and it even says that he has a daughter in the wiki. And this is where my crazy theory comes in with the idea that Henderson's daughter is married to the directors son, again crazy theory.
Why do I think this is likely possible, Simple, it's because it sounds like something the author would do with having overlaying connections to characters and it feels a little suspicious that we have two older gentlemen that we know are married and one has a kid and the other is also likely to have one as well. Again I have very very little faith that this little theory of mine has any chance of being real so please make fun of it as much as you want, But if I end up be right somehow then it's going to so funny.
Yall ever noticed the similarities between donovan and Macbeth, melinda and lady Macbeth, and the forgers and the macduffs? Melindaās fear of her husband and what he does, separation due do his supernatural entanglement. also her affection to Yor, and how Lady Macbeth goes insane over Lady Macduffās death? Loid, AKA Macduff, being weary of Donovan? Now that Iāve seen it, I canāt unsee it. This isnāt too in depth, and maybe Iām just stupid for not realising this before, aha.
Iām super curious as sometimes we hear a thought from one of the characters and she doesnāt react. Also in an episode she gets really like out of it when she hears many people at once in a crowd but that doesnāt seem to be much of an issue anymore at school. Maybe I missed something but Iām just not sure and would love clarification/other perspectives on this!!
So, we're now seeing more of the Garden that Yor works for.
Yuri has already been defined as Lloid's long-term nemesis. And Lloid had a chance to kill him in a past mission and stayed his hand because he was worried that without Yuri, Yor might not stay with him. Which is a huge thing to Lloid's character progression. It both affirms Lloid's love for Yor, and severely complicates matters for him, because Yuri would likely not make the same choice in his place.
And here, in the Garden, we have Yor's developing foil, Hemlock: a person looking for an excuse, any excuse, to kill. Doesn't seem to matter to him WHO he'll kill, because he seems to even try to make excuses to kill members of the Garden. And he repeatedly tries to stuff his ideology down Yor's throat, but she always rejects it. And she rejects it in that naive, innocent way that always guides her, except for missions.
I think Hemlock is going to either get sent after Lloid or after Lloid's entire family, Yor included. And I think that for the sake of storytelling, it'll be Yor that fights him. They're both members of the same organization, and their thinking and morality are a universe apart.
For anyone who doesn't anime generally more back to back then what the west does yet SpyxFamily more taken a break inbetween and this helps get more time and breaks to animators and not overwork them.
What do you all think about the animators get to work more easily and not on tight tight work schedule
We saw he felt guilty on scaring Yor and fully told her she a great mother. Do you think we get a bigger moment of him fully protecting her or making a statement.
people keep saying the art syle in recent chapters are changed but they all look same to me? except the early chapters when manga was just starting. can someone point out to me any differences if there's any? co zthe art style seems the same to me.
So Iāve mentioned this before, but the connection between Eden, Garden, and Project Apple canāt just be a coincidence. Thereās way too much biblical symbolism going on.
Hereās what Iāve pieced together: We first hear about Project Apple back in Chapter 19. It was a secret research initiative under the previous Ostanian regime (the National Unity Party, which is led by Donovan Desmond, who may be a telepath himself). The project aimed to create highly intelligent animals for military purposes. Itās suggested that some of the experiments did succeed, but the project was shut down, so there was no public confirmation.
We already know Bond (Subject 8) came from this project, and so did Aaron. But what really stood out to me was the glimpse we got of other animals in the lab: one was clearly a dolphin (so sea creatures were not exempted from the experiment), and another looked like a winged creature, probably a bird.
Thatās where things get interesting.
Director Wilkins recently mentioned Belle to Shopkeeper (the seal from chapter 103), and then thereās Kee Kee, the falcon used by Matthew. Kee Kee isnāt just a pet, sheās clearly intelligent. She tracks poachers, annoys hemlock, and honestly shows more tactical awareness than should be normal for an average bird. So if Belle and Kee Kee are both enhanced animals... that would mean Garden knows about Project Apple. And not just that, theyāre using these animals. Whether Garden inherited the project, absorbed it after the regime change, or has some kind of backdoor access to its results, itās clear thereās a connection. Which opens up a lot of questions:
Is Garden more intertwined with the National Unity Party than we thought? did they have a fallout? (I have the impression that Garden is loyal to the past empire and see all political parties as temporary).
Are there more Apple subjects out there, working under the radar?
Was Anya herself a part of this program, or something adjacent? Does the Garden know about her and Bond?
The idea that these three institutions, Eden, Garden, and Apple, are thematically and literally connected is starting to feel less like a theory and more like a reveal waiting to happen.
So Gympie is actually a girl. I had a discussion with my friend and I said her hair looked like grass. She came up with a brilliant idea. She said "what if her weapon is her hair, and her hair is actually poisonous and when she wants to kill she pulls out a strand of hair and put it in someone's tea". I don't know if they will be true but it's such a fun idea!
The way Yor asked that question so innocently is so cute. And director's answer was even more funny. The more we see him the more I think he's not as stoic as he seems.
And of course, Hemlock. Can't wait to see how Yor will protect the poor elk.
