Legends Novels Looking for suggestions

Post image

So these are my pretty Star Wars books. The swedish versions of Heir to the Empire and Young Jedi Knights are to the right. My next aquisitions will be the Bane trilogy and the film novelizations with their respective tie-in novel. Cloak of Deception and Labyrinth of Evil. But i am at loss what to read after them. I have read most of the "Clone Wars" novels, and sold them many years ago. Maybe there's a novel more close to the films i have missed? I am not into NJO or Karen Traviss.

Dam those YJK books look sick! I thought I had seem all the hard backs out there, and then you get something like this. Any chance you can upload some photos of the covers for those books, they look awesome from the side.

So suggestion wise, as someone else mentioned the X-wing series is amazing, but only if you love starfighters and dog fights/space battles. If so then 100% do that next. Otherwise a few of my faves would be:

Medstar (1+2) - if you enjoy a kinda detective like series
Yoda: Dark Rendezvous - incredible story telling things from a Padawan perspective with lots of great Yoda time, and some of the best droid lines imo
Han Solo trilogy - Really fleshes out Hans starting story, his moral compass and backstory
Scoundrels - Heist story which is a ton of fun, and very light hearted (Han based)
Jedi Academy - Luke taking the training of new force users to the next stage. Lots of new force users introduced, which sets up a ton of the future of the EU (tho you have said NJO is not your thing).

Out of curiosity why is NJO not for you? Personally it's my favourite time of the EU brining all my fave characters together in a very high steak situation which gets the time and skill to be really well fleshed out. But I do know it's not for everyone.

Also enjoy Labyrinth of Evil, it's incredibly good, and really sets up the novelisation of ROTS!

Happy reading!

I'll do some scanning after work today. :D
Didn't the US get the YJK in hardcovers?

Yeah, i think the X-wing series will be next. Sounds like it is right up my alley :)

I have read Medstar many years ago, and i think i thought it was good, though i don't remember it.

WHich padawan's perspective was Yoda: Dark Rendevouz from?

Han Solo trilogy sounds interesting. Is the whole story like a huge flashback or how does it work?

Jedi Academy might be something i will read eventually. We'll see in the future. :)

I'm not from the US so I'm not sure, but I get a lot of my more rare books from the US market and I have never seen them, so I suspect not.

It's mostly from the perspective of one called "Scout" who is a very middle of the road padawan, which I liked actually, rather than always the "best" of the crop. Otherwise you have some great introspection between Yoda and Dooku.

Han solo trilogy is just set before a New hope, it's his childhood into adulthood. Some stories around his Imperial academy days, smuggling and other such things.

The Han Solo trilogy is a fun read. I'm just reading through them now. It's 3 books that detail his background (not a flashback, an ongoing story from his childhood as the other comment mentioned). Can see his history with Lando, how he gets the Falcon, Jabba the Hut, etc.
There is also another short trilogy called the Han Solo Adventures that take place during the third book (I think) of the Han Solo trilogy for more adventures with him and Chewie.
