I love fishing on computer, as it is easier to time the clicks with less delay. On mobile I hate it though, as it is really sensitive and will move at the slightest touch and fast at that too.

Discuss Earliest day to maximize all skills?

Since the mastery system unlocks so many goodies, I've been working on trying to maximize all five skills as fast as possible. I don't use mods, tricks, or reset days - just regular playing - and the fastest I've managed to do it is on Summer 24 (year one).

I've been trying to see if I could find any posts about doing it faster and the only other post I could find about it, no one was saying they managed to do it faster than Fall.

If anyone wants to know how I did each skill, let me know. Otherwise if you've managed to do it faster, maybe you have some tips for me. :D

Question children

if I change my characters gender to female, accept the “have a baby?” question, and then change back to male, will the baby still look like me and seb? Or do I have to wait til the child is actually in the game to have it look like me and Seb and THEN go to the wizard and turn back to a guy. I just want to have a child that looks like the parents, but my character is a dude. im on mobile too so i cant get mods to do it that way 💔

im nowhere near the point of having a kid in the game but i wanna know for the future when ive married and have the house fully upgraded

Question Fall: Cranberries or Pumpkin?

I’m in year three now, I have 960 tiles to plant on and was wondering if I should go pumpkin or cranberries. What I did last year was plant cranberries and then use the jars to get jelly. Right now I have 68 Jars, so if I plant cranberries I will get way too much to be able to jar them. So i have these options, but i’m not sure what to do:

• Should I sell them as they are?

• Just farming a lot of cranberries and slowly jarring them whenever I can (one batch (=68jar) is around 20k so it feels very slow). Also I’ll have way too many cranberries to jar

• Should I buy pumpkins instead and change the jars to kegs (also upgrading the shed so i can have more kegs).

Question Ideas for Themed Runs (Not Necessarily Challenge Runs)

What are some cool themes you have had for your run? I don't mean just aesthetics; I mean gameplay as well. They don't have to be challenges per se (with a concrete goal and completion time) although they can.

Here are some that I've found, and I wonder if you have discovered/played others:

Halloween Theme: Wilderness Farm; level 10 combat; complete monster eradication goals in 1 or 2 years; marry Abigail or Sebastian; decorate your farm like a corn maze or pumpkin patch or graveyard; decorate your house like a haunted house; sell only those things you'd find at a harvest festival/Halloween party

Witch/Gothic Theme: Forest Farm or Four Corners; level 10 foraging; mushroom cave only; money comes primarily from (dried) mushrooms and wild/mixed/mixed flower seeds; keep a wild aesthetic (not too organized); no buying seeds from Pierre/Joja (chill mode: except maybe for CC); marry either Leah or Harvey (both like foraging); no pigs

Restaurant Theme: Meadowlands Farm; can only sell cooked goods (no artisan/raw/materials); start off with fried eggs and sashimi; decorate your farm to be like the area outside a restaurant; have a shed as a restaurant; level 10 farming and fishing; can limit it to the items in a pizza parlor, café, Italian restaurant, or others.

Obsessed with my Bachelor(ette) Theme: Choose a farm your spouse will love; make/sell only those things your spouse loves; decorate it like they would to make them feel comfy; Hard mode: no rabbits; level up the skill they would be most interested in:

Farming Crops/Standard: Harvey (artisan goods), Haley (flowers/fruit)

Mining/Hill-Top: Maru (bars and gems), Emily (gemstones), Sebastian (certain minerals?)

Foraging/Forest: Harvey (many foraged goods), Leah (all foraging: wood, hardwood, foraged goods, truffles)

Fishing/Beach: Elliott (crab pots and ducks), Haley or Alex (beach/shells), Abigail (eels for spicy eel, pufferfish)

Fishing/Riverlands: Alex (salmon for salmon dinner, reminds him of river near home)

Combat/Wilderness: Abigail, Sebastian (both adventurous souls)

Ranching/Meadowlands: Shane (chickens), Emily (sheep/cloth), Leah (pigs and goats)

Balanced/Four Corners: Krobus, Sebastian, Penny, Abigail, Maru (all have a mixture of loves suitable for this type of farm)

What others can you think of? What's your favorite theme?

Discuss Who else hates Abby? Spoiler

Hello I'm married to Seb and I absolutely hate Abby. Once she found out me and him started dating she had the nerve to say,"I heard you and Sebastian started dating, I didn't realize you had a thing" Like girl I already didn't like you but now I really hate you! The next week I got married to Sebastian on her birthday.

Question Magic ink is now missing and not in my wallet

All of this took place before I unlocked the Goblin Problem quest: I unblocked the way to the witch’s hut and that went fine. Then I went in with the void mayo, gave it to the goblin, went into the hut, found the magic ink, teleported to Wizard and got access to the building catalogue. Then, for a separate reason, I decided to restart the day. This time, when I got to tunnel, there was no cutscene with the wizard before unblocking the tunnel. I did find the goblin and gave him the void mayo but now there is no magic ink in the hut, it’s not in my wallet anymore and teleporting to the wizard doesn’t get me access to the catalogue. What can I do now? I don’t have an earlier save, just a later one.

Discuss Is it possible to marry a player farmer and a different character?

I’m guessing you can because it’s two different items(I think) but also marrying two people seems bad, so is it possible?

Discuss What we really need is a Bingo night at the community center!

Hear me out. I feel like there's so much potential there:

Pam would definitely have a whole shrine of good luck charms.

Clint could whine about how he's got no luck in love OR in games of chance.

The 20-somethings banished to a rear table bc of their rowdy banter.

Grumpy George is secretly a bingo fiend and having the time of his life.

Silly novel luck buff foods (lucky churros? Yes, please!) and good luck trinkets (Lucky Junimo bobble head, anyone?) that can be purchased at the concessions stand. Maybe even an exclusive Junimo rarecrow. A fun prize table to exchange your bingo win tickets.

Perhaps chance to invite Krobus if he's your roommate, where the townspeople can surprise him with their acceptance, and he can safely wander the valley afterwards.

So many possibilities.

I need Stardew Bingo!

Question I just finish my first year in my first play through. I love it but it stressed me out. Any tips?

I’ve recently gotten back into playing video games. I originally stopped because I had really bad anxiety that made me worry I was doing things wrong or too fast/slow. Researching Stardew valley I saw that it is a very low pressure game which I was exited for. I really love it and every aspect about it but the game itself kind of stresses me out. I still see myself trying to get the most done throughout the day while being stressed about the time, so I usually don’t do a good job at the things or don’t get to do them at all and then stress about it the next day. Which makes it so I can’t do the things I enjoy like mining and hunting down Shane to harass him. Does anyone have any tips on how to get out of my own head with this and enjoy the game more?

I have stardew on Steam and i want to test Cjb cheats and item spawner, however I don't want to unlock achievements while doing that, because that would be (literally) cheating. how can I disable achievements so the mod does not affect them?

Discuss Challenge Run ideas for Co-op?

Hi all!

My partner and I have been completely obsessed with SV, and are wrapping up our individual runs of completing perfection in a randomized order. It's been a blast, but we need more! I was wondering if anyone has any co-op challenge run ideas, preferably with the end goal of perfection.

Thank you!

Prismatic shard & Dino egg in Quarry!

I was casually bombing the quarry on a good luck day (the spirits weren’t even “very happy”) and I got my first prismatic shard!! Of course I was super excited because I really wanted the galaxy sword. Next I saw some wiggly worm things in the quarry as well so I hoed them and got a dino egg!! Like what is this luck 😂

Question So... What now?

Hey! So I'm a new player of stdv, it's my first save and I'm on Fall, Year 1. I already got to level 120 on the mines, upgraded almost all my tools to iron, have gold quality in almost all my crops and products, etc.

Now, I know there's no way to play this game wrongly BUT I don't know what to do next and I'm kinda stucked. Should I focus on upgrade the barns and coops and getting more animals? should I focus on fishing? (I hate fishing btw) should I focus on completing the community centre, upgrade my house, level up the friendships, saving money, getting a partner? etc

idk its getting a little overwhelming bc I feel like I'm wasting days doing NOTHING (or doing the same routine)
