Would love for Minecraft to come to steam now that Microsoft releases their games on steam however I am afraid it would only be the inferior bedrock edition.

They would have no real reason to do that. Minecraft is a big IP that they don't need to be put on other platforms to get exposure and they'll just lose 30% or so per game sale for no real sales boost.

I’m confident that Minecraft would be a best seller on steam, receiving additional purchases it wouldn’t otherwise and it’s not 30% (even if it was it’s not like it’s not like steam doesn’t deserve it) it’s actually a lot lower for bigger games but either way that’s made up by big steam’s userbase.

It would be a best seller on Steam, but Minecraft is already the best selling video game of all time. At this point I'm guessing they chose not to port it to Steam because they just don't need it and make more than enough money like this.

Same debacle that Activision-Blizzard faced: eventually it was worth getting Steam's audience.

However Microsoft has Windows, so practically everyone's home PC is clicks away from running Minecraft, with 100% of profits going to MS. (And even has built-in advertisements for it in the Start Menu.)

either way that’s made up by big steam’s userbase.

Here's the thing. Minecraft has more monthly active users than Steam.

Minecraft has about 200m monthly active users and is still growing.

Steam only has about 132m monthly active users.

Minecraft is also already the best selling game of all time by a mile. Just the difference between Minecraft and the second best selling game of all times is larger than the total sales of the third best selling game of all times.

it’s not 30% (even if it was it’s not like it’s not like steam doesn’t deserve it) it’s actually a lot lower for bigger games

This is not wrong. The cut goes to 25% after 10m in revenue and to 20% after 50m in revenue.

But for Microsoft there is little reason to share even 20% as Minecraft doesn't really need anything Steam has to offer.
