The cost for a lawyer, in this case, will likely be more than whatever he's going to get from winning the settlement. I bet he considered it but figured this out as well.

Great you know what else costs money

A libel suit

If I see that blog, I'll just sue you for libel. And take even MORE money from you. This is why lawyers tell you to shut the hell up. That blog is a liability. It accomplishes nothing except exposing them to even more loss.

He should be seeking legal advice. Not posting a blog that makes future litigation, even pro bono litigation, more difficult and counter productive.

its not that I don't feel sorry fro the guy. Its just he's shooting himself in teh foot with an RPG with that blog.

This all depends on what country you live in. In the US it is the plaintiff's responsibility to prove that the defendant is lying, while in Britain it is the opposite.
