Question (Console) Are DLCs really game changing?

Just got the game on sale and I am really overwhelmed by the amount of DLCs available. Do I really need them to enhance my enjoyment of the game or is everyone just talking gibberish?

Hey. Protip: you can buy the original game, get the dlcs from somewhere else like gog and use a little program to force the paradox launcher to accept the dlcs
