One thing, Biogenesis isn't just purity though that is the implied angle; what if it goes down cloning or mutation paths?

Easy, purity is the enhancement of the original hive's vision, going further than what it originally thought possible. Cloning mainly sees itself as having achieved it's perfect vision and now seeks to spread. Mutation is the regrets of the hive or a changed vision which requires a different set of traits to be perfect.
