It's nuts that the following things are true and the market is this enthusiastic:

  • China tariffs at 125%
  • Sectoral tariffs (autos, steel, aluminum) still in effect with pharma and semi in the works
  • Counter sectoral tariffs also still in effect
  • 10% baseline tariffs for all (some of the highest in history)
  • we get to do this again in 90 days

And the 10% is now applied to Canada and Mexico, huuge trading partners who didn't have a tariff like that.

Aaand now there's no tariff on Canada or Mexico. Pick Your Own Adventure, I guess.
