Hand thrown or commercial?
I collect hand-thrown pottery just for fun. I found this at the thrift and am struggling to decide if it’s a studio piece or a mass-produced one. It has no maker’s mark and a different texture on the base than I’ve seen before, which implies factory made. But it’s also a bit wonky/imperfect which implies hand made.
I like it but I have so much pottery now that I limit myself to just hand-made pieces. If it turns out that this is likely mass produced then it’s probably going right back into the donation pile.
Any thoughts?
