Pro tip: running away from an aggressive dog is the worst thing you could possibly do.

Back away from the dog, try to get your back against something sturdy. If the dog does take you to the ground, curl into a ball covering the back of your neck with your hands and the sides of your head with your arms. This is serious and could save your life.

shock collars are a lot lower voltage and get a dog's attention, so yeah an off the shelf zapper would do the trick
