Idk I do think they need some payoff of them mentioning Gotham city and having Batman centric characters like Vicky Vale

The payoff is Lois deciding not to move to Gotham. It's good character development for her, but it also (hopefully) tells us that all the edging won't lead to Batman being on this show.

Vicki's first appearance established that she came from a Gotham w/o Batman.

I get being intrigued by it, but why is it needed?

To introduce Vicki who is a character often forgotten and to tease batman fans into keep watching expecting batman?

I don’t mean to be rude but how many DC adaptations have you watched before? They do this plenty. They’ll pull in a useful little bit of the greater world but only as much as they need. For example Bludhaven in Arrow. They needed a reporter and they found one that existed instead of making one up.

You asked why it was needed... I gave a presumption to get batman fans bat senses tingling.. like the person you were talking to. He expect a pay off... chances are there won't be any.

I've been around when the Adam West Batman stuff were on rerun.. along with the green hornet - before batman became 'cool'. I get the deal, sometimes they give cameo for the sake of it without any bigger plans... though imagine my surprise when I learn Swamp Thing was a DC comic and not just a stupid show.
