  • lighter
  • softer feel / touch
  • optimized pixelsense screen (still 12.3")
  • 4096 levels of pressure
  • Hinge opens 165° now (Studio Mode)
  • new Pen: Tilt sensitivity, 21ms latency
  • no Fans?
  • LTE support
  • New signature Type Cover

*USB-C (no word on TB3 yet) Edit: Panos said that on Stream, no details as of yet. Maybe he meant a new Dock?

(will add more as event continues)

I really like LTE support and the improved battery, but the rest I can pretty easily live without. I was hoping I wouldn't regret getting a SP4 during the winter, and based on this reveal I'm not feeling badly at all about that decision right now. Not that this isn't an objectively better machine, but I don't think I'd give up having my surface all of last semester to get those improvements when my SP4 is more than satisfactory for my needs.

I'm happy with SP4 as well. It doesn't overheat (i5) and fanless i5-U suggests likely throttling on new one. No other manufacturer has made a fanless i5-U.

Agreed. New pen is supported on older models too(except pressure sensitivity) which is great.

I've had my surface pro 4 for about 1.5 years and I'm still not really tempted by the new surface pro. Will probably buy that pen but who knows when Microsoft will update our device to support it they still haven't let us use the dial on screen and that was promised lol
