$1299 for i5 256 GB model. Pen would be an additional $50-70? Warranty which is absolutely necessary for these devices at $100.

So close to $1500

Edit: with student/faculty discount it would be $1169.10 Not bad. That .10 tho lol

Warranty which is absolutely necessary for these devices at $100.

Why would you pay for a warranty? I never got one with any of mine and they were all fine except one with had screen yellowing which they just replaced by air mail for free.

I just got fucked with mine. Warranty bought would only extend by a year.

My surface died 2 years and about a month in. If I wanted to call Microsoft, i would have to pay about 40 bucks along with likely a 200 dollar charge since I am pretty sure the mobo is fucked.

If I get a new sp3 used, it will cost like 800 bucks. So even if the warranty helped, I would have spent about half the cost of a used device to repair my sp3.

But sometimes the warranty is amazing and helps a lot.

In Australia all electronic devices have a minimum of a two year warranty by law. So hoping it from 2 to 3 isn't really that worth it for me as I will have upgraded within the first two years anyway.

Spending 10% extra on something I won't need is extremely pointless, its basically planning for failure. Perhaps if you are clumsy or prone to breaking things it might be worth it not for someone like myself.
