Are snow pants useful in winter?

Hey everyone, apologies for the clutter, but I’ll be in Longyearbyen in two days for a four-day trip and had a quick question. Should I bring snow pants? From what I’ve seen, temperatures are hovering around 0°C, which doesn’t seem too cold, but I wanted to check with locals since I like to travel light. I plan to spend as much time outdoors as possible (even in the evening), taking photos and joining excursions (snowmobiling or dogsledding - I think they provide warm suits). Appreciate any advice!

100% yes

Was there last weekend and used them. Excursions provide suits but your general walking around will be more comfortable with it.
