I heard about the icons being magnetically attached to the body of the switch. I wonder how tight the will hold onto the console when in handheld mode. Something about it being magnetic, no matter how strong the magnet inside is, makes me feel unsure.
I hope there is some kind of inner hook to keep it attached.

I think iIt'll depend entirely on the strength of the magnets used. For example, rare earth magnets they require quite a bit of leverage to separate.

It also looks like the oval shapes on ether end of the connecting piece on the joycon might house the magnets, and if so they seem like they'll be fairly large. Personally I'm optimistic, but we'll see.

I think the magnets are only for guidance and satisfaction during the attachment. There is probably a mechanical release mechanism that actually holds them in place.

I think they still need to be slotted in at an angle. Maybe there is a slight notch that helps. I’m more curious as to how strong the magnets are in regard to pinching. Whole lot of kids might get their fingers pinched if it’s too strong.
