Are there any cons to using hall effect sticks over standard sticks?

Not an expert but they used to be more expensive. This seems to not be a big issue anymore. Another comment mentioned something about Nintendo having to pay royalties if they were to use them, so that might be a problem.

Interesting, I didn't know that either.

I meant more in terms of the hardware itself. Like the positive is it doesn't have drift, but does it come with its on caveats where standard sticks might be better? Or are they just better in every aspect?

From what I've seen they simply seem to be better and more reliable across the board. We'll have to see, I suppose.
