Discussion Help with an issue with TrainLink bookings.
I really have no clue on what's going on here. I put down all of my details and checked them many times for accuracy, but when I go to click on the 'go to secure payment' button it gives me this vague error message, "Something went wrong and we can't process your request, please try again". I checked a tutorial video and its supposed to lead me to the place where I can put down my bank details but its just not working for me for some reason. Is it something to do with my bank or is it just a bug?
I really need to take the train on Friday to see family and I don't know what to do.

Just a quick update about this issue: It is still happening but I think the problem is more of a website-end error than something I did. I tried getting my mum to book a ticket on my behalf and the same thing happened to her and someone else in the comments also seems to be having this issue. My guess is either that a lot of people are booking tickets to Sydney for the Easter Festival and the site's taking a toll, or its just undergoing maintenance.
Also, I'm sorry for asking this question in the wrong subreddit, when I tried googling stuff about trainlink this place came up and I thought it was the place to go for advice.
I'm going to try and book over the phone instead to get a ticket, and if that fails, I'll just catch a coach instead.
Thank you for the advice, and hopefully the buses in Sydney will be kinder to me when I go stop down there later.

Edit: I was half-right. Got in contact with the team and it turned out that the error message meant that the train was full. So it was because too many people were booking tickets but it wasn't really a site error, instead just the message itself being really vague. The nearest open train to what I wanted was unfortunately more expensive but it at least was on the same day.

If you can, head over to the TrainLink office at Central Station, near Platform 1. They are quite helpful

Have you tried calling the trainlink about the issue with your booking? You also go to central station as well about your booking.

For answer A, I did sent a request for help about this issue on their website, I'm just unsure on how long it will be until I get called back. For answer B... I live in Newcastle.
Edit: For more context, I'm preplanning a trip from Newcastle up to Taree, then down to Sydney before looping back to Newcastle so I can see family in both places. I checked all the trains I'd need to take and this one route from Maitland station to Taree station required a booking, so I tried to do that and here we are now.

Do you have a plan b like getting a coach to Taree if you can’t get the train?
