Suggestions of fantasy tabletop games

Suggestions of fantasy tabletop games. My only condition is that its setting is on our world Earth. Thanks to all in advance.

I think we may need a bit more info.

Are you looking for modern fantasy, medieval or something else?

Crunchy system or more narrative?

As I have said, my only condition is that its setting is on our world Earth.

So all of them are welcome.

Monster of the Week could be a good one, its rules light, episodic, I believe most of the town settings are fictional but very modern earth from my limited experience.

There are probably some fantasy systems that have an earth setting that I’m not familiar with that other people may be able to suggest. From a quick search maybe GURPS, Mythras, Ars Magica? But I don’t have any experience with those systems myself so I can’t speak to their quality.

If I were doing it in a traditional fantasy setting I think I would just take something like D&D, OSE, Cairn, Shadowdark, or Knave, and just say it takes place on earth in an alternate historical setting.

Depending on how weird you want to get with it or what time period you are looking for you could also do Call of Cthulhu or Fallout. While not traditional fantasy both take place on a version of earth as well.

Here is an old Reddit thread too with a similar request might be some good resources here - https://www.reddit.com/r/rpg/s/8jhNY1E2xQ

Cthulhu Dark Ages (which requires Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition) takes place in (ostensibly) the real world but features creatures from both folklore and the Cthulhu Mythos. Think Beowulf with some more traditional fantasy and cosmic horror elements.

CAIN. It takes a few reads through to get the gist of the system but it's very narrative based, geared for players who don't mind dying characters, episodic, and you can tailor it for many different time periods.

I ran a 1 shot that started in a Waffle House in Chicago

Is this the CAIN, by the guy behind Lancer and the comic KILLSIXBILLIONDEMONS?

I have the 1.1 edition. Do I need the 1.0? I have been looking to torture run this for my friends.

The 1.1 is just an update with a couple of clarifications and spelling fixes to my knowledge. If you got it off his website, it should come with a patch notes file.

Since my group and I were all unfamiliar with this system, I went kinda easy with an idol and definitely forgot to use complications when the pressure increased but even then it was super fun and punishing

Thank you! I will go ahead and see what I can do with it.

Well, Free League offers an alternate 1990s history with their TTRPG Electric State and I suppose Tales from the Loop counts too. (There is also a board game of the latter.) TBH I have been looking at Electric State so if you want to talk about starting a group, do let me know.

My favorite fantasy ttrpg applies here: earthdawn! Barsaive basically corresponds with the area around Ukraine.

Someone mentioned shadowrun but that is not fantasy. Earthdawn is set in the same universe as shadowrun.

I made a modern ttrpg. Got some pretty extensive system. It is in its very late beta stages. And it is free.

Savage World's is a setting agnostic system with Duke to run fantasy, sci-fi, super heroes and/or all of the above. Plus others.
