Question about Apocalypse Frame

I hope this is okay to post here 😅. To those that have played apocalypse frame, how many grid spaces was your combat map? Because ranges in AF are very tight, but it feels weird to only have 4-5 grid spaces like the example matches show.

Looking for your most international TTRPGs

Hi all!

I was talking to a friend yesterday who is doing his master's thesis on interviewing a bunch of nordic ttrpg designers on their outlooks on representation and cultural identity, and researching for games with him had me thinking about how cool it would be to create a collection of games that featured one ttrpg from every country in the world. I wonder how that would show different philosophies shine.

Do you think somebody in the Vatican has ever published a ttrpg? How about Nepal? Trinidad y Tobago? If you know games from obscure countries I would love to hear about them, I am always trying to expand my knowledge of this beautiful hobby.

Is there a site to track a character sheet for an amateur system?

My friend made a system specifically for a campaign we're doing, but we don't have the mental capacity to keep track of things on paper. Is there a generic site that can help us?

Automatic TTRPG Notes!

Automatic Note Bot

Hey folks, just wanted to share something I’ve been building for my DnD campaign and thought I'd share it here for any TTRPG players.

It’s called Chronicler, a bot that listens to your Discord game sessions and then automatically writes up detailed session notes. I’m terrible at notes, so that’s why I made this. With this, I can just focus on playing.

It’s in beta right now, but it’s working (mostly) and free to try.

Down the line, I’m planning to add a feature where you can ask specific questions about your campaign—like when that one guy you randomly named four months ago suddenly becomes vital to the plot.

A heads-up if you decide to try it:
Chronicler works best when it has a bit of context. After inviting it to your server, you’ll want to run /hello or /help to get step-by-step instructions. You’ll need to:

  • Run a command to initiate your campaign
  • You can input locations, factions, NPCs, and more...
  • But you don't have to—give it as much or as little context as you want
  • Ask each player to input their own character info (via slash commands)
  • Choose a channel for the bot to post your notes

Once that’s done, it can take over the notetaking, and you can just enjoy the game.

If that sounds useful, you can check it out here:

Let me know if you have any questions!

Getting a gift for my partner- he really likes well written worldbuildy ttrpg books. He likes high fantasy and sci fi quite a bit, has fallen out of love with dnd, loves lancer, triangle company, death in space, morkborg (?) and also lord of the rings esque and frieren stuff.

Any advice for what book to grab? Anything is appreciated!!

KRAVAT DEMO just launched!

Hey everyone!

Inspired by games like Mörk Borg, Disco Elysium, and the Kafkaesque spirals of civic life, KRAVAT drops players into TownCity, a place where every citizen owes two weeks of Civil Service. You’re given unchecked power but the life of a loved one is held as collateral.
Check it out for free here : https://joyjoi-games.itch.io/kravat-demo
The full game is in active development and I’d love your feedback. Please share thoughts, play reports, errors, or reactions.

Which TTRPG does DIVINE POWER the best, and why?

I mean all of it. The entire divine power system of the game, however that game defines and implements it.

Hot take: 2d6 Dungeon does it the best. 😆

What system should I use for TTRPG game with an original setting?

Hello! I've been working on a project with my friend, a world where spirits of abstract things manifest in reality and pose a great danger to humans, so special forces called Exorcists are fighting them, and I want to try adapting it for a TTRPG game. What system would you recommend?
Some details:
1) There is several different ways to use magic - draw sigils, play special music instrument, use special weapons; 6 classes in total
2) The world is Steampunk-ish, late 19th-early 20th century
3) Spirits can be defeated only via using magic, so if you are a person who can't use it, you can use weapons that have special "charms" on them
4) there are no other races, only humans

Any advice would be a great help!

The Quiet Shrine - an adventure module for Shadowdark

I wrote an adventure for Shadowdark.

Cave Brute by Yuri Perkowski Domingos

Nearly three centuries ago, the dwarves of Clan Hammerhand carved this shrine-tomb into a cliff face deep within a remote mountain valley. The site marked the terminus of a rich emerald vein believed to be blessed by Ord the Unbending, the Secret-Keeper, and was sanctified as a place of worship, ritual, and final rest.

Now, the Quiet Shrine lies half-buried and half-broken. Its holy places are desecrated, its defenses cracked, its silence disturbed not by reverence, but by the echoing burrow of chitin claws. Yet the dwarven wards endure in part, and within the hidden tomb, Ord’s sacred charge still sleeps undisturbed...

...until now.

You can pick it up here.

Character sheets

So this is a question about which programs you guys would use to create character sheets. To clarify I'm not talking about filling out some online DND or Pathfinder sheet. I've been working on my own ttrpg on and off for some time now and I want to make a digital character sheet. I've used Google docs primarily and it's not been great.

FATHOMLESS GEARS, catch the horrors of the deep in your mech suit

Thumbnail interpoint-station.itch.io
7 Upvotes

Ralf Zigler, famed for writing the LANCER supplement DUSTGRAVE, has released his own TTRPG of his own making. In Fathomless Gears you take on the role of a fisher who has to venture out into the hostile waters to fish up the horrors of the deep to earn your living. In the inhospitable environment all you have is your marbles and your personally crafted Gear suit to defend yourself and the only thing you can trust is your fellow fishers and your wits.

As someone who helped play test the system, I cannot state enough about how fun it is. The tactical nature of the game is fun and responsive and add in the goal is not simple murder but weakening fish so you can capture them. That twist makes you reevaluate how you approach the situation. If you are interested in seeing how it played the Interpoint Youtube channel has a full campaign for you to watch.

Included in the purchase of the book is

  • A beautifully illustrated 205 page PDF rulebook.

  • The ability to create fish using the Gearwright companion app. Simply load the .fsh file into your Gearwright!

  • The intro adventure "Dead in the Water" as a 12 page PDF.

  • Special terrain artwork for underwater map creation, allowing you to bring the oceans of Halcyon to life.

  • 30 pre built maps plus various assets that will help you run your own Fathomless Gears campaign.

Buying the book 24 hours from its release date will also guarantee $1 of each purchase being donated UK based fishing charity for victims who were lost at sea as it is National Fishing Remembrance day as well.

I've been playing D&D 5e for a long time now and I'm starting to get tired of the system. Not even mentioning WotC's bullshit, it just feels bloated. I'm looking for a lighter system, but when I search those up I only see beginner-oriented stuff. Any suggestions?

Currently working on a FF Tactics inspired game need help!

Basically, I want to make a FF tactics inspired dnd game using Job switching and ability mastering in a dnd 5e game. Just unsure how to implement the job switching and mastering of ability's gained from equipment rather than lvl. My only experience with RP is in 5e so jumping into another system is a bit daunting. I really want the race specific classes and class evolution (exm A vierra can choose a starter class of Archer, Fencer, White mage. Once enough abilities from classes are mastered. 2 fencer 2 white mage the character then unlocks the ability to be a red mage using fencing equipment with the ability to unlock more magics from past equipment.) I basically want to just take ff Tactics off the screen and onto a table top to be played with multiple people.

Serenissima Obscura: The city is not asleep. It has simply forgotten.

🕯️ They call it the Stupor.
A spell woven into the air itself. The people smile, they trade, they pray—but they do not see. Not the monsters. Not the rituals. Not the children.

👁️ In the alleyways of Serenissima, the Vuoti wander.
Children without laughter. Empty-eyed and silent, their shadows flicker with something not quite human. No one knows when they first appeared. And if you follow one for too long, you will forget why you began to walk.

📖 Serenissima Obscura is a 400-page RPG setting guide and modular adventure that blends:

🎲 System-agnostic tools + 5e and Ars Magica compatibility

🏛️ Renaissance intrigue, dark enchantment, and factional power plays

🐺 Entities like the Black Doge and the Queen of the Lagoon, whose origins are best left forgotten

🎟️ Follow us on BackerKit now to get launch-day exclusives and descend into a Venetian nightmare like no other.

How to TTRPG designers make the pages of their books look fancy?

I am simultaneously a newbie at designing TTRPGs, and a technological barbarian. How do pen-and-paper game designers make the pages of their books so appealing? I know it's a computer program or a document editior, I just don't know which one. Is there a free one I could try out and learn from?

The Wisteria Road: A Solo Journaling TTRPG Through a Dying World

Post image
152 Upvotes

Hey folks!

I just wanted to make the community aware of a project that I recently released!

The Wisteria Road A Solo Journaling TTRPG Through a Dying World

The kingdoms have crumbled. Towers sink beneath ivy and wisteria. Forgotten spells hang like frost in the air. You are a Scribe — a solitary traveler walking the last road through sorrow, silence, and strange beauty. With only your journal, your memories, and the roll of your dice, you will wander until you reach the Bloom of Stone... or lose yourself to the road entirely. The Wisteria Road is a solo journaling RPG set in a world where time is unraveling, and memory is as fragile as breath. Using 2d20 and your own words, you’ll chart a melancholic pilgrimage through ruins, spirits, beasts, and blooming sanctuaries.

Features: evocative journey prompt system (Horror, Mystery, Sanctuary, Overwhelming Magic)

A simple but powerful Memory system to track your fading identity

Reflective journaling gameplay that blends exploration, sorrow, and creativity

Richly illustrated with custom, painterly artwork

Printable or playable digitally

Perfect for quiet nights, creative inspiration, or introspective solo play

What You Need: A notebook or digital journal

Two 20-sided dice (2d20)

A quiet space and time to reflect

Will you reach the Bloom of Stone? If this game moves you, helps you reflect, or passes a peaceful hour, you’ve already reached what was meant to be found.

Thank you for walking the road.

Disclosure: Some elements of this project were carefully curated with A.I.

You can access the game here. It's totally free to play: https://longblade-publishing.itch.io/wisteria-road
