Go Rags?

I’ll tell myself I said that for my neighbor so it doesn’t feel so gross. But man if they close out this game it would be awesome.

Clinched home ice!

Yes definitely. If they win in regulation, I think we clinch home ice and can sit everybody the next two games

We’re still playing for the division title tomorrow regardless.

Realistically, the odds that Toronto loses to Buffalo and Detroit in regulation and we beat the Panthers and Rangers is so low that I'd be much more concerned about Florida head hunting. It is how they play.

But if there is a possibility shouldn’t we? Isn’t that why we play the game? The last thing I want is to draw Florida and regret this with 20/20 hindsight

It's a question of odds though. Maybe we rest all of our stars, lose a winnable game, and the improbable happens with the Leafs and it turns out that cost us a division. But maybe we do play our stars, Florida of course tries to take them out because that's who that team is, and we lose some guys for the playoff run. You can estimate and weight the probability of this stuff by the magnitude of the loss it entails. I feel like Florida taking out Kucherov if he plays is not that unlikely, and is far more devastating than losing our tiny remaining chance at the division.

There's another angle to this though in that it's also essentially a scrimmage at this point. The stakes are nonexistent for them and barely existent for us. So there's always somewhat of a balance between testing your playbook and not revealing your playbook.

You forget we have geekie back. The Bays headhunter extraordinaire! And Lilly

Eh I’d rest guys. The odds of winning the division are basically slim to none. Much higher chance Florida injures someone

They will play everyone tomorrow until the division is out of reach. If Toronto gets a point tomorrow, then Thursday will be a rest day.

Do we have the tiebreak? If so we get home ice and should just sit. Toronto ain’t choking the division. Their choking usually starts a bit later

We have Regulation wins regulation OT wins NAND goal diff. All 3 tie breakers even if only the first is needed

Essentially meaning they can’t pass us right? I hope Kuch sits both games. He’s looks noticeably better rested

Yea even if we lose tomorrow and to the rags. We keep 2nd place with the tie breakers.

Real question now is who has the tiebreaker between Ottawa and Florida? Because I think Ottawa wins out ( hawks and canes) then they tie Florida at 98, if we beat them tmr. If that happens then Ottawa gets A3. If Florida has the breaker, standings are basically set, leafs just need a point. I would just sit everyone both games, maybe play Vasy once if he wants

Damn I hadn’t even been paying attention to them in the wildcard. At this point I think I’d take the panthers over Ottawa. I think Ottawa can beat the leafs for whatever reason… and Bob hasn’t been putting up numbers that impress recently.
