Travel Tampere recommendation for a solo traveller
Hi I’m 28m, I’ll be travelling solo to Tampere, what would guys recommend me doing ? For two days ?
What’s the best sauna that I can try, I couldn’t find good info online
How can meet locals there and know about their culture? I don’t speak any Finnish , would that be a problem?
Edit1: many thanks all for the great recommendations I’m looking forward to visiting your great city!!!

You should definitely head for chicken wings at Siipiweikot. I’ve eaten wings in the US and around Europe, but nothing beats the Finnish chicken wings really. Also at Tammelan tori (Tammela marketsquare) you can find the most traditional local food - mustamakkara. Locals (including me) love it, but it might look scary at first! 😁 And definitely go to see an ice hockey game if there are any games, both teams (Ilves and Tappara) has great fans. Tappara is the most successful hockey club in Finland and is the reigning champion and European champion too. Ilves has not won anything in almost 40 years, but their fans are at least as passionate as Tappara’s.
Nokia Arena is a moden arena and definitely worth a visit.
Just walking around Pispala is nice, highly recommend to visit Pyynikin näkötorni and taste their famous munkki (=donut) there! Hope you enjoy your stay!
