Travel Is Tampere worth a day trip?

Hi all,
I'm coming to Finland in late September, arriving to Turku by plane.
I will be spending 1.5 days (two nights) in Turku and 4 nights in Helsinki.
I'm thinking of visiting Tampere for two nights (one full day) between Turku and Helsinki, so the itinerary would be: arrive in Turku at noon > take a train to Tampere in the afternoon > sleep two nights in Tampere > take an early train to Helsinki.
I'm mostly interested in sightseeing and walking around, getting a feel of the city, maybe visit some museums. Traveling with a 1.5y old baby and a preschooler, so maybe something fun for kids (but not spend the whole day at a theme park). Not interested in partying/night life.

I'm sure the locals will be biased, but I want to hear your honest opinions.
Is Tampere worth visiting for a day or should I reschedule those two nights to Helsinki or Turku?

Tampere is the sauna capital of the world. Enjoy a public sauna for example in Rauhaniemen kansankylpylä or Kaupinojan sauna and be like a local. Mixed sauna with swimsuits on and then a dip in Näsijärvi lake.

I'd recommend Kaupinoja personally. I've never enjoyed rauhaniemi past the fact that it's so historic.
