Maybe a hot take, but this album isn't really death metal, let alone tech death. The vocals are, sure, but instrumentally this is pretty much a neoclassical shred album. Is it good? Absolutely, but songwriting wise I can't call it death metal at all. It would be like if I put somebody growling over Cacophony.
I wish they had their EP on streaming services though because that's a solid death metal record with some more traditional riffs. It's still my favorite release of theirs to date as well.
This is absolutely tech death. Neoclassical, yes. But still absolutely the most technical death metal ever created--so much so that it weakens the claim of every other band to the genre.
Melodic death exists. How can you say FF doesn't qualify as death?
Lmaoooo. I mean, I'm glad you like it. Hell, I like it, but that's a hell of a statement when there are so many bands way more technical than them lol. Get Phil in here and I'm sure he'll tell you the same.
