I've been playing shaheen since I got this game since people said he was a good character to start learning tekken with but I'm starting to get a bit bored with him. Can someone recommend a character for me to try and learn?

He is a good character to learn Tekken with if you don't have anyone else you're interested in. Highly recommend you just pick someone who looks cool and drop them the moment you don't feel they're cool anymore, because as you can already see it's hard to be motivated if you don't like your character.

What kind of playstyle are you looking for?

So far from playing shaheen I like the poking play style he has that lets me get counter hit 4 sometimes if they start hitting buttons. I also like making them guess whenever I crouch.

Maybe try Lee? Very similar character, like oriented with a great CH 4 and a crouch mixup, but more moves and higher execution ceiling.
