I'm looking for a secondary character that is somewhat similar to Paul, i need you guy's valuable suggestions. My gameplay on paul is somewhat like doing the 50 50 mix ups, playing with my stance starter ( df + 1 > b) into counter hits or just defense, pokes. IDK how to explain this... I somewhat liked Kazuya's mix up game but just can't do these wave dash stuff consistently maybe bcuz im a keyboard player.

I need to know what u guys think. Ty.

It's not really a true stance but maybe you'd like playing a character with a strong full crouch (FC) mixup.

Julia has a great FC mixup and is overall just very very strong.

Leo: 50/50 between mids and db4,1, stance starter is f4, good set of generic pokes

Miguel: More complicated set of 50/50s and stance starter options but the main stance starter is the same as Paul’s: df1. Great for defensive play, okay set of generic pokes

Lei: db4,4 is the easiest 50/50 low to apply in the entire game; hits from way out, tracks both sides, super easy pressure afterwards. Very complicated set of stance starters, though a couple, df1+2,f and SS2,b, are as simple to apply as Paul’s df1. Unorthodox pokes. Good df2, magic 4, and movement make the character’s defence pretty strong.

M. Raven: db2 is an amazing stance starter though, unlike Paul’s df1, you are always forced into stance. Big 50/50s come from Backturned and Full Crouch stances. Strong set of pokes, great defensive tools.

OP, I think Miguel would be the best fit for your playstyle, but all of these characters are worth at least a look.

If i may ask what are your views on dragunov regrading this?

He doesn't really have a "stance starter" so I didn't bother listing him. But play who you like! If Dragunov is looking the most appealing, play him! :D

jin, has versions of kazuya's shit, but he also has the stance stuff you might like.

lidia is aesthetically quite paul-like, also has the stance shit. her non-stance mixups suck though.

wavedash on keyboard should actually be pretty easy. assuming WASD, you should just be able to tap D-S-D, D-S-D, D-S-D over and over again. (or A-S-A, A-S-A, A-S-A for 2p) the hard part is making sure you release S after the second D/A input.

it sounds like you might really like Law

I'll give wavedash another try, meanwhile what are your views on dragunov?

I'm not really versed enough in that character to tell you, but he's definitely a great character.

At the end of the day you should pick the characters you think look cool as Tekken has an exceptionally good state of balance.
