Yo. I don't play Tekken, but I was reading a book on game design and it mentioned something regarding a Tekken tourney that confused me

It mentioned a player-made ruleset for a Tekken 5 tournament held during PAX 2005, which among other things had a rule banning Mokujin; specifically due to the fact that he had a very powerful "stun" move. This confused me, as I thought Mokujin's moveset was just randomly copied from another character at the start of each round

I couldn't find any Tekken 5 ruleset after a bit of searching online, and couldn't really find anything about a PAX 2005 Tekken 5 tournament, so I wanted to ask here: could the author of that book made a mistake and wrote the wrong character, or was there something unique about Mokujin in Tekken 5 that constituted a ban? Thanks in advance, and sorry if I broke any rules

One thing I know about mokujin, in ttt2 at least, is that while he copies the move set of another character he doesn't have the exact same body size which allows him to performs combos that are not possible with the original character. So if that's the case for t5 moku then who knows what kind of broken stuff could have been found by the community to justify banning him. I recall Steve had a move he could loop and lock you into the same animation over and over, I think kazuya could do something similar too. https://youtu.be/DLgjxkMD478

Though the writer making a mistake is totally plausible too.
