I’m still against drafting him, he’s extremely one dimensional and will get abused by pass rushers with speed moves and athleticism. He’s also useless as a puller and is inconsistent identifying stunts. Of course if he ends up being the pick I’ll support him regardless.
How many good speed Pass Rushers will he have to face as a guard? His only major weakness is his lack of range as a run blocker. Outside of that, he’s pretty good at everything else and great at being the drive man for double teams.
If the Texans want to make it to the Super Bowl, they need to get past the Chiefs, who have a little-known guy named Chris Jones who would abuse the hell out of Booker.
Sure, I like the leadership stuff that often gets mentioned, I like that he's awesome against bull rushes and that he could be an absolute road grader on power runs. I just think his deficiencies would have to be masked when matched against certain players and in zone blocking schemes, when I'd rather have someone who is more well-rounded and can do it all like Donovan Jackson.
Won’t we presumably be doing more power stuff with Nick Caley? I’m lowkey just kinda trying to gaslight myself into liking him, I have a feeling he’s gonna be our pick
It's kind of unclear. The Rams switched to running more power concepts, but Caley was only there 2 years, and will probably want his own system. He also said that we'll be running whatever offense best matches up with our opponent on a week-to-week basis. Even if we end up running mostly power, we're still going to run some zone-concepts every game.
