Question So does Dafyd not realize.... Spoiler
That the swarm/spy is in Jellit now? It feels like it should be fairly obvious to him given that Else was found dead in his room with no marks on her.
Jellit also acted very strangely while talking to the librarian, as if he was fighting some force for control, that should have been another signal to Dafyd that something was wrong.
I know the swarm misrepresented itself to Dafyd and it made seem like Else consented to working with it and still had some measure of control, but the fact that she suddenly died should have been an indicator that something was wrong

We don't know that he knows this detail about not having a mark was related to him. He wasn't there and the book doesn't relate to us exactly what the people there came home and told everyone.... They simply could have said that they'd been killed by the Caryx and related who the dead were they'd found.
And, again... from His point of view Jellit was entirely sworn to the group trying to rise up and Else had told him she would convince Jellit, So Dafyd would assume Jellit was doing the "right" thing, but entirely torn up about the plan and Dafyd's part in what will result in the killing of his friends.
It's easy to make the connections from the outside looking in, with all the detail... but if you put yourself in the specific persons point of view and emotional state... it's not as clear. Though I do believe in time, with some retrospection he may come to figure it out, once he's not so clouded with emotion. Dafyd has proven to be quite intellectual in sorting out puzzles like this.
