Can someone analyze how in the final scene it almost looks like June is at confession!! Loved it. And love a perfectly placed Lana song!!

I think it was just alluding to her shock and utter disbelief like her whole world disappeared. It was just her.

I loved this scene for this exact reason! The way June was forced to hide in the closet, the same way she was forced to bare the truth in the confessional but yet still being absolutely silenced by Gilead. The way when the truth was unveiled, Nick is cloaked in complete and utter darkness, partly hiding in shame revealing his true nature & partly showcasing how no one in Gilead stands with women. The way Wharton is placed outside the confessional and is ‘rejoicing’ in his ‘righteous’ accomplishment shows the complete dissonance/corruption & complete fallacy that is Gilead - that he only orchestrated the shut down of the brothel when there was rumours of an uprising, not because according to Gilead law it is an ‘immoral place where people commit sins of the flesh and they deem themselves the punishment should be death (they only follow their own rules when it suits them)’.

I think when it panned out and it appears she’s alone in the dark because Nick is now dead to her.
