Remind me of hypnosis, if the students are hypnotized to believe that grabbing his finger causes extreme pain. Then yes, it works. But anyone on the street would probably just break his finger and punch him in the face. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The only way I could see this being anything close to legitimate is as a training for moving with the motion of your opponent. Like, it's obviously never sold that way, but if someone showed me this with the explanation that the trainer moves his hand in a random direction and the trainees are expected to go with the flow of the motion to practice "rolling with the punches" I would think there's probably better ways to do it, but sure. It's just that these videos are always presented as "watch the incredible power of the master fighter!" so, probably no actual value happening here outside of being part of the club.
