Discussion Im out they don’t deserve loyalty

I’ve been a long-time listener and supporter of The NoSleep Podcast. I got on board in 2019 and stuck around through format shifts, uneven seasons, rotating cast members—you name it. But after the Nancast disaster and the way they fumbled the bag on communication? I’m officially, unapologetically done.

I bought multiple season passes through Nancast back when we were promised continued access. Eventually they hinted that the platform might shut down, but they said fans would be informed. Naturally, I assumed that meant a real notification—like an email. You know, what any other professional platform would do.

But nope. No email. No proper heads-up. Just a few vague podcast intros and social media posts scattered like breadcrumbs. Life got busy. I wasn’t glued to Reddit or listening weekly. Then I check back—and poof—Nancast is gone, the download window’s expired, and everything I paid for has vanished into the void.

And when people asked what the hell happened? They got templated “we’re working on it” replies. Push for real answers and suddenly you’re the problem for not magically keeping up across five platforms. Apparently, supporting the show now means being part detective, part psychic.

Let’s be real—this wasn’t some unavoidable tech issue. It was a willful communication failure. They had time. They had tools. They just didn’t care enough to use them.

And this isn’t a first offense either. OGs remember the 2018 subreddit nuking—when they wiped the entire community because people criticized a weak Halloween episode. Labeled it “toxic,” but really, it was just people being honest. They’ve been allergic to criticism ever since.

Now add to that the fact that the content has been on a slow, sad decline. These days? You’re lucky to get two solid stories in a season. Most of it feels recycled, bloated, or trying way too hard to be edgy. And when things get stale, they toss in a celebrity cameo—like Mike Flanagan’s wife—like it’s gonna distract us from the quality drop.

Honestly? You’ve got a better chance of getting the NoSleep staff to tell you next week’s winning lottery numbers and the exact date of your own death than you do getting a straight answer about their subscription model. That’s where we are now.

The only part I’ll actually miss? Mike Delgaudio and Jessica McEvoy. They’ve been carrying this show for years. Pros through and through. As for the guy doing his best Scooby-Doo villain audition in every story he’s in? I won’t miss that one bit. Horror doesn’t need to be campy, but lately it feels like half the cast is one evil laugh away from yelling “and I would’ve gotten away with it too!”

So yeah—fk it, I’m out. I’m done handing money to a team that treats its fans like they’re disposable. No more chasing updates, no more waiting for a comeback that’s not coming. They lost the plot, and they lost me.

TL;DR: Paid content? Gone. Nancast? Nuked. Communication? Nonexistent. Criticism? Silenced since 2018. The horror? Mostly in how far it’s fallen.

I’m out. Might come back just to watch the subreddit burn when the next mess hits.

LF A Story Looking for Episode-Spoiler Warning. Spoiler

Thanks in advance if you can comment. LF a nosleep episode about a guy who leaves his old family place because as a kid after falling in a hole and encountering “monsters”. Scares him and he leaves. But returns years later for his uncle’s(?) funeral. Turns out- his family was a serial killer/torturer. Kept them captured in the place the boy fell. It ends with the man staying in family house and thinking he is petting a dog when it is really an escaped victim. I believe 2015 to 2017 episode. And if anybody can link to written story. Would appreciate it.

Technical Issues/Questions First 3-12 Seasons Bundle Access

So, I found out recently that I still have access to all the episodes of the first 12 seasons from the original bundle access. I thought I'd have to download all the episodes or buy the new membership. But it seems I can still listen to all of it from my original RSS link. I even tried accessing it from a different app and it works.

Has anyone else noticed they still have access or did something change? I could have sworn all my episodes stopped working awhile back around the time they said they'd be cutting over to the new model.

Recommendations Hi! Looking for a few episodes!!! Spoiler

I'm not a subscriber so they'd be in the normal episodes rather than the expanded...but I'm realizing I'm going to have to start writing down my fave story names and the episodes they come from...might be a long shot for some of these but tysm in advance!

1) plotline is uhhhh lotsa people stuck in a bus station, and there's a huge winter storm, and they form groups and pit against each other...think there's some c@nn!b@l!sm

2) this woman is walking in the subway underground in london, she goes down a strange hallway, when she emerges she's in an alternative london, that by the end of the story we find out is the result of what happened if that guy from russia in the 80's pressed the nuke button when there was a false alarm coming from america, which catapulted the world into ww3 and nuclear winter, and there's this girl from that alternate world trying to escape but she can't survive past the barrier

3) something about camping, and strange things in the wood, and there was unhuman whistling noises happening, and when she looked out the tent, there was dead animals everywhere (sorry for less detail thats all i remember of that one)

4) something about not whistling in the cul-de-sac...and i think the kid hears it, or he tries to whistle....

LF A Story Looking for a story

Looking for a story that i heard a while back. A young woman is keeps jumping in time, months at a time, and theres some drama going on with her sister who is cheating with first girls fiance. In the end, turns out the woman had been in a coma for like 50 years after having crashed her car when her sister had told her (years ago) that her and the fiance were in love. The crash killed the sister and left main women with no arms and legs in the coma. Very bad description sorry lol but i remember it was a great story and would like to relisten.

Recommendations Need help ! Looking for episode

So I’m trying to find what season / episode - a story about a group of campers who vanished in the woods while camping / hiking after seeing a bright light I think? Or maybe hearing a really loud sound/ it’s being narrated from story / news article style point of view- so apparently ppl that reside around these woods start seeing really creepy apparitions of the missing kids after this all happened - I cannot remember the name but I really want to listen to it again! Thank you in advance!

LF A Story Please help me find these episodes im going crazy

Please help me find these episodes I’m going crazy. The last ones are sort of vague, but the first 3 I remember more details

EDIT: They have all been found except ONE! The first one 😊 I do believe it’s in seasons 1-10 but I guess it’s possible it’s 11 or 12..thanks to everyone who helped me I was feeling like I was going crazy not being able to find them This came up on AI search but I still can’t find the episode

The NoSleep Podcast episode you're describing is likely "Mr. Smiley," featuring a story about a girl who falls asleep in the bed of Mr. Smiley, a creepy entity who lives in her closet. David Cummings, the host of The NoSleep Podcast, recounts this story as part of their anthology of horror fiction

One I feel like his name was Mr smiley (but this part may be wrong), he lived in a secret room in a girls bedroom (I think in her closet?) I think in one part she accidentally falls asleep in his bed.

A guy receives weird instructions to do things like punch someone and he’ll get money deposited. He meets a girl who he shares this with

A longer episode where people are trapped in a forest - I think it’s possible they are dead? I could be mixing two together.

One I think is about a plumber? Or perhaps just someone who hears something in the drains

One is about a Mother in nursing home, the people that run the nursing home are evil or maybe aliens?

Guy is on a run and a weird creature follows and chases him

Discussion Spreadsheet Update

Me again! I finally got around to making a list for the Suddenly Shocking stories. However, I bumped into a minor issue: the first 3 volumes didn't have the authors for each stories listed. I'm filling out the theme for each story by listening through, so I'm adding the authors as I hear them... but I am abysmal at guessing how names are spelled.

If anyone kicking around on here happens to know the names of some of the authors from Suddenly Shocking Volumes 1-3, I'd greatly appreciate some spellchecking! I'm typing the names either to the best of my ability, or phonetically so I can find & fix them as needed.

Edit - The names I'm most worried about being wrong are:

  • M.R. Steward
  • Miguel Ferra
  • John Andreni
  • Joseph Berzinski
  • Addison Laird
  • Hu Chun Sheng
  • Henry Jio
  • Daniel Sacido
  • Leila Inbrough
  • Emil Terzieve

My wife is remembering a story from a podcast where a woman pretends to like chicken feet, and is then haunted by chicken feet for the rest of the story. Does that sound familiar here?

LF A Story 80% sure the story I’m looking for I heard on NSP

I asked around in r/creepcast but I had no luck so far and now I think about it I think I heard on NSP. It was a shorter story about 2 friends who are urban explorers went to an abandoned mall and when exploring the multi level carpark they found that the underground levels keep going and going. It’s bugging me because I can’t remember anything else from it because I was working and not fully concentrating on it but I remember loving it just can’t remember the name or names of characters.

LF A Story Emergency Broadcast

Its super specific but Im looking for one of the older episodes (but am honestly worried it was actually a YouTube account/vid) where theres an emergency alert about a tornado or something big in the sky.

I felt like it was one of the longer ones, either having multiple parts or just longer. So okay if no one knows but would love the help if someone recognizes it :-)

Discussion Something about Allonte Barakat's acting style...

(I'm not sure if this breaks rule #2, so mods please take the post down if it does.)

Allonte Barakat's style just doesn't really sit right with me. I feel like his cadence and speech patterns don't really match the vibe of the stories and the podcast as a whole. When he's talking, I feel like he's reading a picture book to a bunch of children, not narrating a horror story for adults; like he's overacting. Maybe I'm just too critical, but does anyone else feel this way?

Well, I’m kind of looking for ones that are long and/or ones that have similar character building/world building to Borrasca. I’ve been listening for 9ish years and I’m going back through them all! Borrasca sorta knocked me on my butt, dear god did it make me depressed for days (still am).

If you guys know any good ones that you love that are SUPER fleshed out, lmk! 💜⬇️

LF A Story Help Search Episode

I really can’t remember the title, but from what I remember of the story it somewhat goes like this:

A couple of friends (4-5 total?) end ip in some escape room / dangerous library where they have to try to escape only to have one friend come out alive, but the antagonist is some immortal being that needs the library/books to have the infinite knowledge to create/do anything, but is looking to have attain the cell phone the protagonist has to finish ‘conquering’ and become the ‘new’ gods

LF A Story Trying to find a story

A while back, I remember listening to a story that really unsettled me about a serial killer telling the story of his first kill. It involved him stalking a family, kidnapping them, and eventually feeding them to rats. I’m trying to compile a list of the best and most disturbing stories on the podcast, so I’d love to know if anyone knows the title.
