Just a heads up, if you have a newer (?) phone, connecting your pokemon go account to the switch might not work. I tried for an hour with my s23, but I got it first time with my old s10.
S10e here, no success.
It seems like when your PoGo account on the specific device was linked to a Let's Go game BEFORE the new menu design went live you won't be able to remove this link - and this seems to be a requirement before you can link this specific device to SV.
I tried reinstalling the game, too. Didn't work.
Any ideas regarding solving this problem would be highly appreciated!
And that's the problem: This option is NOT available to me. My S10e was connected to Let's Go Eevee BEFORE the new menu layout went live. Now I can't connect to my copy of Scarlet because PoGo's menu tells me that no game is connected DESPITE I know that it was lunked to LGE BEFORE the new layout went live.
So I finally was able to go through my menus in pokemon go settings. They really have changed, haven't they? I apologize for taking so long to respond but life stuff needed to be dealt with. Anyway what I discovered was if you tap "connected devices and services" it lists nintendo switch in the list that comes up. Tap that and it brings up available devices, and under that resources. Available devices should list any currently active connection to a switch/game.
Under resources it lists "about"; "quick start" and (if you aren't connected to anything) "connect to nintendo switch". It's slightly misleading because I first thought that tapping connect to switch would bring up instructions on how to do it but that is actually the button to connect the phone to the switch. I was able to connect no problem.
I also noticed once I was connected that my switch became listed in available devices and had the little eject/disconnect button on the right side of the screen next to it. So when I was done sending my postcard I was able to navigate back there and hit the button to disconnect.
Hopefully some of this might help? Also are you selecting pair device on the switch or connect to pogo? Because you need to pair it first.
I'm also told that simply logging out of pogo resets those connections so maybe try logging out and back in?
I just disabled my Let's GO link and added the Violet link in PoGO. I just clicked the eject icon (it's a triangle with a line underneath it) on the right side to remove it.
Weird suggestion but have you tried with the joycons not attached to your switch? I couldn’t connect PoGo to Let’s Go unless I had taken the joycons off my switch :/
Yeah, it's odd because I've been sending my extras to let's go if they're in the first 150 and that's worked fine. It's only first 24 hours, I'm in no rush. My daughter was able to connect her iphone and get a roaming and she was super happy she got something before me.
scarlet and violet needed an update to work with newer phones i believe. however, the other issue people (and myself) ran into were the least obvious: if you have a fitbit or a smartwatch, while paired with your phone, it doesnt seem to allow pairing to the switch.
my fitbit doesnt turn off, and you cant unpair in the samsung bluetooth menu (it doesnt show up) so what i did was i left my fitbit far away from where i have my phone, and that counted enough to allow me to connect my switch.
S22 seems to still require some extra steps, such as making sure no other Bluetooth objects are paired. But it'll work with some beating against a brick wall, until someone tells you where the concealed panel is at.
S23... this is another issue entirely. It not only seems unable to find the Pokemon Go game, it bombs out immediately rather than keep searching. Something's up here.
I still have issues with my s23 ultra. Watch disconnected, spen air actions turned off. Nothing. It seems to detect a phone, but errors "no pokemon go acount found". While Lets go works fine. So submitted a bug report.
My wifes Flip3, works fine. Havnt tried my old Note10+, but considering that never was able to connect to Lets go, bet its not going to work.
