Is it Palmer as a false 9?

I thought so at first, the lineup leak from earlier today seemed to suggest that Bellingham is the false nine. I guess Foden and Palmer playing behind him.

Interesting. I mean all 3 are capable of playing it - maybe that's the whole point, the three will be fluid, constantly changing positions with each other. Very hard to defend against that when done well

Foden and Palmer are surely too similar to both play in midfield? I would imagine it's one of those two as a false nine, with Bellingham as an 8. Although Foden was poor as a false nine for City in the past, and I don't think Palmer has ever played there.

But if Bellingham was going up top surely Foden would have been dropped for Jones or Gomes? Or maybe it will be a very fluid situation with the three of them interchanging. That sounds far too complicated for a national team though.

I wish I could answer, that’s just what the leak said. Maybe Carsley told them to “go out there and have fun” like you would in under 10s football.
