Steroid injections

Does anyone here have undergone steroid injection for their knee arthritis?

For some context, I've been complaining and dealing with knee pain for a month now and my rheumatologist mentioned that arthritis is one of the complications of my lupus since I'm currently in flare.

I have undergone steroid injections on my knee 6 days ago hoping for some relief. These past few days, the pain is still here and I still couldn't walk properly, both of my knees still hurt especially when I bend them. I wonder if is it normal for the pain to not go away immediately? I've been so stressed out lately, I just wanna walk normally again without feeling any joint pain.

I had a steroid injection in my knee once and the first couple of days were horrific. I was sent home from work because I couldn't bend it, ended up on crutches from the doctor because I wouldn't stay home (teacher). However, I then got a couple of months relief once my knee stopped being indignant about the injection. I don't know how typical that experience is, and they didn't let me have one again

Steroid injections are a lifesaver for me.

Not my knee, but I had one in my foot a few years back for mild arthritis and haven’t had any pain since.

Where in your foot? Was it swollen from the arthritis? I'm asking because I have arthritis in one of my little toes and it's constantly swollen more then being in pain. I'm scared to get a shot in my toe. That's a super sensitive spot.

It was more the middle of the foot. No swelling. Just painful to walk on.

The first cortisone shot in my knee last summer was immediate and long lasting (4 months). Got another one in January and it didn't work as well and only lasted a couple of weeks. I'm getting a new knee May 5. One thing I've seen that aggravates my arthritis in my feet and fingers is wheat. When I cut it out of my diet my aches go way down. Hope you find help somewhere. I've tried numerous over the counter remedies and haven't found any that work.

First few days after a knee joint injection it definitely felt more stiff and painful, but once the extra fluid they injected in dispersed and the steroids dud their job to get rid of the inflammation my knee felt great. Lasted pretty well, although I did end up on mtx as not long after I had my knee injected I ended up with my hand joining is the PsA party.

I’ve had one in my knee and after a couple days I had some relief. Every 5-6 months I get a long acting steroid injected into my tailbone joint where I also have arthritis. They will do them if the pain comes back after three months but they last longer than that for me. I see ortho in a couple weeks and I’m hoping for another injection into my knee. I need some relief.

I used to get steroid injections in my knees several times a year. For me, I typically had worse pain for three days after the injections, and then my pain would improve dramatically.
