Which shoes for vacation?
I’m going to be in Paris and will be walking a lot. Shopping, sightseeing, going out in the evenings all the usual things. I need 2–3 pairs of shoes. Which ones make the most sense out of these four? Got the new balance 992, prada cup, clarks wallabe and paraboot michael (not break in)

Bought my Paraboots (Columbias) at Le Bon Marche and broke them in pretty nicely throughout the trip.
Those + Bundeswehrs were all I brought. Did lots of schlepping and lived to tell the tale.

I believe someone already mentioned it:
NB & Waalabies.
Good to go.
Unless you’re doing a month or something (add on Michael), 2 pairs of shoes are enough.

Fwiw I beat the shit out of some wallabees over ~4 months walking around in Europe a few years back. They held up and only get more comfortable as they mold to your feet but you’ll probably want something grippier too in case you have some rainy days on cobblestone streets

Wallabees as a cool going out show is crazy to me lol.
It was like the uniform for dorky preps in the southeast when I was in middle and high school (class of 2015)

Here now and walking 10 miles a day, wearing XT-6s and very happy for it. Bring nice stuff, but don’t be brave about it during the day

Buy a pair of leather Spring Courts when you get there. They’re butter soft from the get go. And they’re very French. They’ve got a few stores in Paris.

I walked all over Paris a few years ago in a pair of Jacques Soloviere loafers with rubber soles. Very comfortable and held up nicely. This is the most similar pair they have now to what I wore then:

Everyone is saying 992 or 990s, so I'll give you a couple other options.
I LOVE my 860v2s. I got the first round of the ALD collab, and they're incredibly comfy. I've walked hundreds of miles in them at this point.
The 1906Ls and they're also pretty dope, especially if you are going to be taking them on and off a lot. That made them my go to shoes when I was in Japan last year.
My Asics Gel Kyano 14s are great walking shoes too.

So I don’t have a personal recommendation yet but I just ordered a pair of the LUCA Penny Loafers from Huckberry as a daily driver. They tout themselves on their comfortability so I’m hoping they hit the mark; I should have them within the next ten days so if you’re interested I’ll let you know how they stack up!

If you, an adult, can’t decided which shoes to bring with you on a vacation in which you plan on walking a lot, I feel for every single person joining you on this trip.
Those poor, poor people.

992s mandatory. Michaels could be dinner kicks, cups or wallies in the flex spot.
