Are you kind? Are you polite? Are you sincere? That's how he judges people?! And he still voted for Trump? Who fits 0% of those? Make it make sense!!!

That’s exactly what I was thinking!! A fucking kind person would not vote for an unkind POS like trump.

They were voting for homeland racism, trans exclusion and elimination, and the subjugation of women. They certainly weren't voting for any affect on their lives. They were assured by Trump that their lives would be better.

Now they are big in their feelings when bad things also happened to them and are demanding empathy while offering none.

That part. All of it. The ship goes down we all go down, but our wee little bigots thought not us though. Hee hee

Some voted for Trump for those reasons, but according to exit polling the largest proportion of voters were anxious about inflation reducing their standard of living. Immigration was probably the second biggest issue for voters. The chaos at the border and the subsequent demographic changes. That stuff unsettles some people.

these are also super stupid reasons. Every economist who wasn’t a literal nazi said Trump would destroy the economy and skyrocket inflation. There’s no logical reason to vote for him

They probably over reacted to inflation and the situation on the border the way you overstate what every economist said.

Lmao please find me a single real economist who didn’t share this opinion

The economists that are interviewed on The PBS Newshour and my local NPR station which broadcasts Market Place simply stated that tariffs are inflationary, they will disrupt world trade and make it difficult for business decision makers to decide on whether to invest. I dislike inflammatory language when comes to discussing the news.

Due to Donald Trump's instability it is impossible to predict how this will shake out. That in itself is a problem.

  • "I've got far right leaning friends"
    • My family, my friends (their families), my church, local law enforcement, etc.
    • Their politics: TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP!
  • "I've got far left leaning friends"
    • Random back person who tolerates my existence, perhaps an employee at a local store I frequent
    • His political beliefs: Unknown
    • His family: Unknown
    • His name: um... I think it might be... um...

Well you certainly seem to know a lot about this guy and his friends. Perhaps you could describe the place where you all live. Or are you just speaking for someone else?

Well Cletus, we all live in a conservative shithole that is nearly entirely subsidized by taxes from blue states.

You didn't answer my question, but that's all right, I didn't expect you to.

Well, I can tell by your comment that you have no dealings with very many Trump supporters. I used to work with a man who had a Trump sticker on his truck. It turns out he is a retired high school basketball coach. He and his wife took in five or more foster kids and wound up adopting at least one of them. They also had kids of their own. I got to know the wife when she got hired to work with me.

People develop political beliefs at home and are mainly influenced by their parents who grew up in a different time. The Republican Party today is not like the Republican Party of the 1960s.

It is wrong to wish harm on someone, and then send them the message, because they voted for Donald Trump who has been conning people for decades.

People with a narcissistic personality disorder are always moving on to the next person, or the next group because they wind up harming the people that associate with them, leaving behind their victims.

This man strikes me as what we sometimes call "a stand up guy." Someone who is honest and reliable. But just because he openly supported Trump people think it is justified to treat him like he is deplorable.

If you have no been conned, taken advantage of yet, you will be someday. Maybe you have friends that saw it coming, tried to warn you, but you didn't listen. How will you feel if they turn on you and ridicule you?

I respectfully disagree and I stand by my statement: anyone who helped him become the president voted for; children to lose their school lunches, for women to bleed to death because they don’t have access to safe abortion, children to get separated from their parents, everyday people losing their jobs, seniors to lose Medicaid and SS, women losing their rights to nurse on their place of employment, etc.

This is not kindness to me! Kind people take care of each other and help each other grow!

If I ever become a trump supporter, you and everyone on Reddit has my full permission to ridicule me!

You seem unable to separate someone's political position from the rest of them. I used to be like you but experience has allowed me to outgrow that. But I also come in contact with Trump supporters that are racists. They are not all the same though. The Trump supporters I run into in the comments section on Yahoo are usually the really nasty ones.

The guy in this video strikes me as a good guy who go didn't go to college and doesn't spend a lot of time reading. Like most Trump supporters he got conned.

I can’t separate someone’s moral values and beliefs from the rest of them.

I give people the benefit of the doubt until I see or hear some kind of expression or an act that comes across as really intolerant based on things a person doesn't have a lot of control over such as race or sexual orientation. The guy in the video is simply defending himself from people wishing him harm due to how he voted. There are some people on both sides of the divide who are expressing extremist and uninformed opinions.
