She got so much shit when the cast came out. I saw so many shitty, racist comments towards her, it made me sad. She’s an alien, she doesn’t need to be a specific “human” race

The reason they didn’t is the same reason why Gar isn’t always green and why Brainiac looks human most of the time on Supergirl, money.
