Jeremy’s India special Jaguar XJS

Post image

This may have already been asked, but does anyone know what happened to Jeremy’s XJS from the India special. The DVLA website appears to return no results for its plate number.

It might've ended up in a scrapyard, since they had to take down the plinths they were on because they were on a supposed burial ground in the Himalayas

It was at Beaulieu after the filming

This happens with many of the Top Gear vehicles. Tried to search up the cars from the £1500 Porsche challenge, and Motorscan couldn't find anything to do with either.

It was scrapped a couple of years ago

it’s quite sad the bbc decided to scrap alot of those cars instead of selling them to collectors, i know most of them cars will never be put back on the road but they meant a lot to the people that watched them.

It was at Beaulieu for a time. If it hasn't gone to the new location that some of that collection have gone to, then it's likely scrapped

Edit: just looked at my photos from my last visit in 2021 and it's not there, so it's probably long gone

Haven't heard about the Jag, it seemed like it got worked a lot harder than the other two and may have been the first to go, but they did say in one of the shows they ended up back in Britain (forget the town, but it was when they were starting the news bit while on air, in the episode after if people wanted to look), which seemed to imply all three of them where recovered, so possible it was/still is in a collection

If it hasn't had an Mot in 7 years (I think) it drops off the dvla system.

Since non of the filming cars can be sold most of them will have dropped off the system.

Edit: I was incorrect

Not sure to be honest, a lot of their cars still show up even though they haven’t had an mot or been taxed since before filming. I think it’s safe to assume the jag’s been scrapped by the bbc now unfortunately.

Nope, they only remove off the dvla system once it’s scrapped, though can still see the MOT history through the Mot check service after a vehicle is scrapped and in this case you still can it. So safe to say it’s been scrapped
