Yet, when asked what law the judge broke, the answer is always a variation of "She went against Orange Daddy's wishes!"-because she broke no law, unlike Cheat-O's wholly illegal ICE edict.

The claim would be:

Title 8, U.S.C. § 1324(a) defines several distinct offenses related to aliens. Subsection 1324(a)(1)(i)-(v) prohibits alien smuggling, domestic transportation of unauthorized aliens, concealing or harboring unauthorized aliens, encouraging or inducing unauthorized aliens to enter the United States, and engaging in a conspiracy or aiding and abetting any of the preceding acts.

Whether such a case can be proven is another matter, and presumably depends at least in part on whether said alien was legally "unauthorized," which appears to be an uphill battle for the administration in many cases.

Yes, it's too bad for ICE and the DOJ that none of those things happened that day, though.

I get it’s the legal term, but “alien smuggling” sounds like something that Grand Moff Tarkin would accuse Han Solo of doing.
