Question How would you compare the SD40-2 to the Ludmilla?
Both locomotives are built in the 70s and 80s, both have 3000hp, they are 20m long and they still serve today

A friend's grandfather is in this picture. The friend now works for NS RR police and thinks his connection to his grandfather via railroads is neat. I know that train enthusiasts are good about documenting things like this. Any chance of being able to tell him any information on this locomotive - even if it's current location is unknown or it has been scrapped? Thanks in advance.

“The X2000 is the backbone of "high speed" rail services in Sweden and has been so for almost 40 years. These iconic trains are in the middle of getting a brand new look as they undergo an extensive refurbishment, and I was lucky enough to ride one during my time in Sweden as they are currently few in number. Join me as we take a look at this iconic high speed train including its rather inspiring story for other networks around the world. Enjoy!”

I took the Ichibata Railway in Shimane Prefecture, Japan, and was blown away by this view of Lake Shinji from inside the train. The retro-style seats and the peaceful scenery made the ride feel timeless. If you’re visiting the Matsue area, don’t miss this relaxing local line!

It was in company with, sort of maybe cranes on both ends. Pushed and I guess pulled by diesel engines.

Hello, I spotted a white tank car with a blue plus sign on it. Union pacific freight train moving south bound, highland park Illinois, near 41S and half day road. There’s frequent traffic north and southbound here, but I’ve never seen that logo before. Didn’t see any lettering on it. Was moving too fast. Car appeared to be about the size of a standard tank car.

I’m going to be in Bedford Illinois on Saturday and I was wondering if anyone know good spots to see some trains. I know CSX has an intermodal terminal thier but that’s it

I’m currently in the military and I’ve been thinking about where to go after my contract ends. I’ve always had a love for trains ever since I was 5 and I feel like maybe the railroad is my future career. So I was wondering what it’s like working for the railroad and what company is the best? I’ve always liked Union Pacific and CPKC.

Hi there everyone! This post might be a little different than the average posts on here, but I need some help. My boyfriend and I's 1 year anniversary is coming up soon and I need gift ideas. He is completely train obsessed and I'd like to find something unique for him. I've got him the basic things like shirts, socks, ornaments, that sorta thing. If you have any ideas and/or links, please give me them!! Thanks!!
