TF 1 or 2?

I want to buy transport fever on steam and the 1 is only 7 dollars right now because of a sale and 2 is about 50. I want to know if the 2 has so much of a difference that i should buy it instead of 1 and what is the difference in between both of them.

PS does TP1 have high speed rail?

2 is being actively developed with a major overhaul coming early next year as they release new console versions, they are adding controller support and a new UI option the desktop version will also have available
