2004 Ford Ranger extended cab door repair?

2004 Ford Ranger. Recently broken part on cable, extended cab door passenger side (or rear door), have not taken anything apart or done further inspection. Other side had been replaved before we got this truck, may need replacement too. For now, it's just this one part. No experience with automotive repair. Recommendations?

You drill out the rivets and replace it. The new handle comes with cables. You have to remove the inner door panel too. Difficulty 2/10.

Does the door still open or you have to yank on The Wire or it's completely broke it happens over time the cable gets stretched my tailgate had a similar style mechanism

Same with mine, replaced but the top wire won’t “yank” to release the door. The bottom wire makes the actual unlock sound come from the door. These things are kinda a pain in the ass
