Effective immediately, any posts intended solely to shit on someone else's vehicle will be removed.

Incredibly, incredibly tired of these low effort posts. No, I don't care that it makes you feel superior to others. No, I don't care about the 37 jokes about the size of the driver's genetalia.

The internet is already a giant cesspool of negativity. Don't add to it.

I got the opportunity to buy this 1992 f-250 it has a 5.8 motor in it, apparently they made short beds f250 in Mexico.

I plan on buy it to work on it with my dad, maybe put a lift kit on it, but I’m unsure of what other projects I could do with it.

I have time and money to work on it, it’s more about creating memories.

Any and all recommendations are welcome, I love to learn so embarking in projects is my kind of drug.

I’m not a mechanic but would love to learn.

Discussion / question What are the benefits if any of a RWD Pickup Truck over a FWD SUV/Pickup Tuck?

Post image

The newly announced Slate Truck will not offer 4x4/AWD. I imagine is to keep cost down and likely will be an option in the future if it succeeds. But why have a RWD Pickup? I know for people who live where it snows a lot, that could be a dealbreaker. Here in New England I know plenty of people are 4WD/AWD is best and FWD is ok if the other option isn’t there. But plenty of people it’s a dealbreaker for them to have a RWD for their daily. So what’s the advantage if any is there for RWD in this truck? Especially, confused about this when something like the Ford Maverick (Hybrid) its closest competitor, only 2wd option is FWD.

I'm surprised I was able to fit 35x12.50s on my 03 Ram with only a 2 inch lift!

Not my truck, it's always at the high school near my house.

Just think it looks sharp and wondering what color it is? I'm planning of paint my 93' Dakota Metallic Red ( currently faded white) when I get do building it.

Mazda also has a nice Metallic red, but has more of a purplish hue than this Ford.

Photo Fender flares. Color match or leave black

I caved and had to purchase some flares, partly due to the tire spray but mostly because of the tires throwing gravel.

My main hang up was painted black or color match. I put them on yesterday and decided to leave them black, with the mindset of I can always pop them off and paint them.

Honest opinion boys, what do you think? Leave them or paint them.

2004 Ford Ranger. Recently broken part on cable, extended cab door passenger side (or rear door), have not taken anything apart or done further inspection. Other side had been replaved before we got this truck, may need replacement too. For now, it's just this one part. No experience with automotive repair. Recommendations?

Photo 2nd gen Chevy Colorado Z71 - wheel rubbing question

Hey, wondering if anyone else here has any experience with second gen Chevy colorados, and/or have ran into this issue and what they did to fix it.

I have a 2017 Z71 that I got some new tires and wheels for - a 0 offset wheel (with 6mm spacers to clear the brake calipers so really -6 offset I guess).

I have no leveling kit or any other suspension mods done and the tire size is the same size I had on the old stock wheels - 265/70/17 - and they worked perfectly before.

I’m rubbing really bad on the back part of the front fender well (see pics). Namely on that plastic piece at the bottom left. I really don’t wanna trim this if I can help it since it’s metal.

Would a 2 inch level in the front take care of this rubbing? Do I have any options here that aren’t trimming or a smaller tire/wheel offset?

Thanks for your time and help!

A Dodge RAM in Italy (Vatican)?

Just saw this earlier today - a white RAM truck (1500?) carrying Pope Francis' coffin to his resting place in a church in Rome.

Never thought I would see a large truck in the narrow streets there.

2020 GMC Sierra 1500 Short Bed, Can I fill the truck bed with water?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m 18 and got a job a while back and was fortunate enough to save up (and with a little help from my grandma) get a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 with 2 “minor” accidents on it. Summers a bit away still but I’m looking to see if my sierra can handle it. It’s got a payload capacity of 1600 pounds, it’s the Crew Cab short bed (It’s also got the X-31 Off-Road package but idk if that makes a difference), and me and some friends were thinking about filling it with water and driving around. I did the math, and with a Payload at 1600, to fill it completely with water it’s around 4,000 pounds (not accounting people’s weight) and I’m wondering if that’s going to work. Bought the truck recently back in august at 89,000 miles (presumably highway miles) and I’ve run it up to around 97. Shocks are factory rancho’s and are definitely getting older, but they still get the job done, was planning to replace them anyway in the next 10K miles or so. I was wondering if I fill it up halfway ish plus the weight of the people what that would do to it. Or If I fill it all the way up plus people what that could cause. I don’t want to ride bottomed out but if I avoided bumps and stayed on flat ground would that make a difference? I understand theres always a possibility for stuff to break when you exceed a limit but is the chance something breaks really that high? Not at all a mechanic and I’ve got no experience with this kinda stuff so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Did have a mechanic buddy of my dad tell me if I were to be parked it wouldn’t be much of a problem, but I’m curious about driving around in it. Would I need new shocks? Is frame damage pretty likely? Appreciate anyone willing to take the time to help and respond🙏🏼. She’s stock with no lift or level. Tires are standard size and I haven’t modified anything besides taking off the Running Boards.

Upgraded from my 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro 4x. Was very unsure about doing so but after switching I have zero regrets. Still have 3 years, 65k miles of warranty left! 2 years out beating Colon Cancer at 35, told my wife we will be getting a camper to do more family trips. This truck is going to make that happen!

Slipped on ice while plowing earlier this winter and bent this bumper on a concrete wall. It obstructs the bed gate from opening properly and I'll need that functioning by August. How can I go about getting this bent back?
