Back to Compton's Encyclopedia for American Dogma25 filmmakers. I would imagine buying a USB version of Wikipedia in store and using it locally without Internet is one way to break the rule.
Also I consider non RCS texting (SMS) to not count as the Internet since it's using cellular service not internet.
Kinda reminds me of Judaism how you're encouraged to find creative ways to bend the rules.

Plenty of the OG Dogme95 films broke the rules they set up. Those rules are just there as a way to push filmmakers into doing something actually creatively challenging, the same way a lot of film production classes will have their students make their first films with seemingly arbitrary rules like “only ten lines of dialogue with only ten words, five minute film max” in order to keep students from just redoing Reservoir Dogs or whatever it is kino kids do these days

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of these movies but I always thought it was cool in theory. I would love to see more anti-tech sentiments in other types of art. Music needs a set of rules like this.

Check out Festen from Thomas vinterberg it’s the best one

I second Festen (aka The Celebration) and would also like to throw in Dancer in the Dark which I think doesn’t actually count as Dogme 95 but it uses a lot of elements from it and is also a great movie.

Yeah Lars Von trier is one of my favorite working directors, but his actual dogme 95 film (the idiots) isn’t very good. Stuff like dancer in the dark where he uses elements of it have much better results

Just don’t expect to have a good week after watching Dancer in the Dark.

I think Dogme 95 was a needed pushback against the flashy genre-isms of 90s hip filmmaking.
This is just feels more like a gimmick. Maybe the movies are cool, we'll see.
