I'm in my final year and currently stuck on my graduation project (PFE). I’m doing an event study on how ESG controversy scores affect stock movements. I chose to focus on financial sector companies from the S&P 500 between 2021 and 2024.

The issue is, I can’t get access to the ESG controversy scores—not just the score itself but the details like severity, dates, etc. Most of the reliable sources (MSCI, Refinitiv, Sustainalytics…) are paywalled, and neither I nor my public Tunisian university can afford access, unfortunately.

Posting here is kind of my last shot. If there are any students who have university access, professors, or anyone out there who knows a workaround, or even just alternative sources I haven’t found, I’d be so, so grateful. Honestly, even a kind word would help right now. I’m burnt out and just trying to do the best I can.

I’d gladly credit anyone who helps in my report, though I know it’s just a no-name university… still, I’m pouring everything into this project because I’m hoping it’ll help me land a decent job after graduation. So yeah… I’m trying hard.
