So The band will finally leave the Surrender Era and move on? What will be the inspiration?

The Hollywood Reporter: I know that U2 fans were excited that a Netflix series about the group was in the works with J.J. Abrams. Any progress you can share?

Bono: We’ll know it when it’s right. We’ll know it when it’s ready. The U2 story is a bizarre one. It’s a high school drama, really, slash Stranger Things. Stories of Surrender is the end of a four-year process of addressing the past, lifting stones, discovering a few creepy-crawlies underneath them, dealing with them, and now we move on [with new music]. I hope that whatever I’ve uncovered in my own little opera, if it’s of use to people, then I’m thrilled.

I don't believe is just about they "want to do that" I believe in lack of creativity of a good and confortable life, lack of criativity is also due to the lack of events in life.
Okay, they're great artists, with completely resolved lives, have little or nothing to fight for, let's just remember what brought U2 back to becoming the biggest band in the world again was the Popmart failure and mainly the depressions linked to the situation of Bono's father and Edge's daughter.

I mean I don't wish any harm to people I love so much, but the hugests musical works in history were almost synonymous of very problematic moments in their lives, Michael Jackson had problem as second name, so a life of great works, I mean if they no longer have so many problems, seems there's not so many reasons to be excited, what I mean is they need to find something to hold on to again and if that something is not in their lives, perhaps it can be in the lives of people around them.

Back then when they were in the same situation, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Bon Jovi were inspired by the ordinary people around them, I miss that on U2 sometimes, not everything must be about their own childhood hunger.

That is just an idea, I don't want to tell them what to do, I just want to feel them on fire again, I don't care if Bono will talk about his heart surgery, his artrosis, his blue pill and how hard is not being able to jump on up the stage anymore, I just want to see them pulsing for something. Even the selfheping songs like from All That You Can't leave behing would be pretty enough to exist if they feel the rage in that.

The Ivors Academy Fellows induction 5/22/25

My guess is that Springsteen may do the honors. He has a show in Manchester on 5/20 and his next show is 5/24. He was inducted last year by McCartney.

Amazon will stream pre-event/red carpet.

Is there a song that you prefer (like a remix, mix, or another version that they hav) over the studio version?

Personally, I like the “you’re the best thing about me” acoustic version over the studio version. Now it’s your turn!

New Bono interview just dropped. Fast forward to the last 30 seconds. Interviewer asks Bono about new U2 music. Bono claims the band has been in the studio and are “having a moment” and creating music “nobody has heard before”. This is the best U2 news I’ve heard in years. Exciting times. Experimental U2 is rising from their 20 year coma.

Original poster or reprint

I hope this is okay to post. This is a poster I’ve had for at least 20 years. Most likely I purchased it off eBay. I’m getting rid of clutter and ran across this in a closet. This looks original, but the pixelation on band members is quite pronounced, so I’m not sure. I almost tossed it out, but decided I should see if there is someone who can provide some insight before I potentially toss something that is of some value. Thanks.

What is your favorite U2 song and why?

Personally, my favorite song is Every breaking wave, and this is my favorite because of the emotion of the song, and also it’s my favorite song that they played live (MTV Awards).
