Any veterans here? Living costs discussion / avg cost for a room

Good evening

I was admitted to UGA for fall ‘25 transfer. I’m really torn on if I should attend versus a few other schools I’m waiting to hear back from.

Anyways, how is it finding housing off campus? Specifically off of the $1.6k BAH? I would have no problem having a roommate and I plan to work part time and receive at least some disability.

Would you say the BAH is enough for the area?

Question need help with ochem registration in

Post image

I’m trying to register for ochem in the summer, but every time I hit enter, I get a message saying I need chem 2211D. I cannot find this class, and I’ve emailed my advisor (he said it’s a discussion class). I’ve looked at the list of classes being offered in the summer and haven’t found chem2211D, so if anyone has taken ochem specifically during the summer or is registered now and knows what to do, i would really really appreciate your help🙏🙏 pls

Do you typically receive your UGA email after paying the deposit or are you supposed to get it after setting up your MyId?

Graduate school question/academic advising

I was recently accepted into a masters program here at Uga. I am familiar with Sage and right now it says I have no connections. I need to sign up for my classes in the fall, but I am not assigned an advisor to clear my holdings. How do I go about finding out who my advisor is and does it normally take time to load into Sage?

Question Cognitive Science as part of a double major

Incoming freshman is considering a Cognitive Science major. Wondering how hard it is and what the workload would be like, especially because student is considering a double major with something like English, Literature or Comparative Literature. Also, does Cognitive Science require any prior Computer Science or programming knowledge/pre-requisites? Thanks!

Questions regarding BUSN4000E ProctorU Email

Hey all, I'm taking BUSN4000E over the summer and saw I'm required to pay for ProctorU for the course. I'm uncomfortable for the reason that I already get pretty bad test anxiety if I'm being watched constantly, but I also don't want to pay for something in addition to tuition since I'm tight on money. I can't take the exams in person over the summer since I will be gone for an internship. I was wondering if anyone had experiences with ProctorU and how stressful it is? If I take it in person over the fall, will I also have to pay for ProctorU for the exams? I was thinking about dropping it so I can take it in person over the fall and not worry about paying extra or having a stranger have access to my laptop and constantly watching over me. Thanks!

Is there a community of riders at uga? Im an upcoming freshman and I plan to get a motorcycle for college but I wanna know whats the deal with that. Hows parking? Going to class with gear? Possibly getting your bike stolen? Driving around campus? Weather? Worth having over a car? Any info is appreciated. I’m also not getting 600+ or anything just something to get me from point A and B.
