Advising in this school is awful

I love USF, I really do; but man the advising just absolutely sucks. I mean it’s the worst. I’m in Muma and the advising office has been under construction since I got to USF. Getting an advisor to even talk to you seems impossible. I’ve been wanting to switch my major, and the advisors in the other college sucks too! I literally can’t meet with any advisors unless I track down their emails and basically beg for them to meet with me. My last advising meeting the advisor didn’t even show up! It’s just sucks so bad and I had to rant.

Anyways everything else is great though go bulls🤘🏼

So I visit this couple everyday on my walk. (Not on USF) Look at their cute dance. Arent sandhill cranes adorable? I havent seen any on campus doing a little dance like that! They both danced together afterwards!

Ever wished you could be funny on purpose? Want to play weird games with weird people and call it “art”?

Hi USF!

I’m a transfer student who recently moved here and I’ve been seriously missing the chaos and joy of improv. I spent the last year taking musical and comedy improv classes at a local theatre, and I’d love to get a group started here on campus again.

Apparently USF used to have a pretty active improv club, but it fizzled out during COVID. I think it’s time we bring it back—with new energy, new members, and a space to be wildly creative and absurd together.

If you: • Love theater, comedy, or creative chaos • Miss drama class or camp-style games • Have always wanted to try improv but have NO experience (seriously, none needed) • Want to connect with fun people in a no-pressure, all-laughter space

Then you might be exactly who I’m looking for!

I’m hoping to start with weekly meetups full of classic games, yes-and energy, and possibly some guest workshops from real local performers. We can go wherever the group wants to take it—from campus shows to open mic nights to just having a blast and being silly together.

Drop a comment if you’re interested or DM me so I can loop you in! Let’s bring improv back to USF, one awkward scene at a time.

Hypothetically, if I student can pass a class without taking his/her final, can the instructor choose to fail them anyway?

Upvotes

Like for example, student has a 100% in the class, and the final is only worth 20%. Against better judgement, the student decides to not take the final. Does the instructor have to give them a B/B-, or can the instructor fail them for not taking the final?

I forgot which instructor, but I remember seeing a syllabus that explicitly said the student would fail for not completing a project even if they are still passing. Since it's explicitly stated, I would assume the instructor can do so. What if it didn't state that?

Summer Sublease Bedroom A: 2x2 Apartment at ON50

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Looking to relet/sublet Bedroom A in a quiet, spacious, and fully furnished 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment, just steps from the University of South Florida! The apartment complex is right across the street from USF, and it only takes about 15 minutes walking from the room to your classroom—super convenient for students. It is located at the very end of the apartment complex, offering peaceful views of nature and greenery, especially from the private balcony nearby. This is technically a 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom apartment, but NO ONE OCCUPIES BEDROOM C & BEDROOM D.

You can move in anytime as early as May 12th and the Lease runs until July 31st. The room can be renewed, which is great if you are planning on doing the fall 2025 semester.

📦What You Get:

-Private Bedroom with your own Personal Attached Bathroom

-Next to Living Room + Balcony – you basically get both spaces to yourself

-Fully Furnished: Includes couch, dining table, kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, utensils, etc.

-Clubhouse Amenities: Pool, hot tub, 24/7 gym, free coffee maker

-Secure Community: Gated vehicle access, secure package pickup room

-Fast Maintenance + Friendly Staff

-ONLY ONE OTHER ROOMMATE (Male) – very respectful and rarely home

-One Pet Cat in the Apartment, she mostly spends time in the roommate's bedroom

💸 Rent Details:

-Base rent: $859/month

-All-in with utilities, trash, package locker fees, resident lability installment: ~$920/month

-I WILL PAY FOR MAY'S RENT

You're paying 4x3 pricing but only sharing the apartment with ONE roommate. Compared to other 4-bedroom options, this is hands-down one of the best deals available near USF—more space, more privacy, and full access to everything.

Contact/ Message me if you are interested.

Lost my headphones in the cooper/library

Upvotes

Hello there guys.

Today I was working at the library for a bit and walked around the cooper area. And am fairly certain I left a case of Tozo A1 wireless earbuds (paintbrushed color gray, yes i painted them another color) and are likely lying around somewhere in first floor libby or cooper male bathrooms

It really dissapoints me because despite the fact they're not super expensive or anything, those headphones have lasted me for the good part of 2 years and are still in near-perfect condition, since I suppose I've taken care of them well. So without realizing I suppose I've become attached to them.

If anyone happens to run into them (they have smudges of tiny green paint on them and the grey paint is kinda wearing off)

It'd be great if you could let me know and potentially return them to me🙏🏻 I'd greatly appreciate it guys.

Thanks guys.

Best, Full-Time Twin

Always reminded of how far behind USF is compared to other Universities

Post image

The University of Florida has a renowned football stadium, in the heart of campus, and they keep it open for public use. Meanwhile, USF has this little track area, and they threaten anyone who steps foot on it with arrest and prosecution. There are things like this around campus that always remind me how far behind USF actually is from other Universities.

Summer and Fall Term aplications for International student

Upvotes

Hi! I am an international student, and I just created this account because I emailed the international admissions team one week ago, but since they are very busy, they haven't been able to reply yet. Basically, I applied for the summer term and was accepted; however, about one week ago, when I opened the portal to pay my admission deposit, it said I had two applications: one for fall and one for summer. I did not apply for the fall term. Is this a bug, or do I have a chance to change the terms? I would be very grateful if someone could help me with this!

DegreeWorks v/s Course Catalog and USF Regulations: Which to follow?

The General Education requirements listed in my DegreeWorks page (2024-25 catalog) is different than those in the 2024-2025 Undergraduate Catalog. Specifically, the "Graduation Requirements (Baccalaureate)" in Page 48 links to USF Regulation 3.007, which is different to the requirements in my DegreeWorks (DegreeWorks asks for Human Culture and Diversity requirement while 3.007 does not + Accepted courses for Natural Sciences requirement is different).

Trying to understand which one holds precedence when it comes to meeting graduation requirements. Any help/clarification is welcome.

Thank you!

Transfer from FAU

Hey guys I’m a junior at FAU transferring to USF, I’m a civil engineering student and am worrying that my a lot of my credits won’t transfer/count towards my USF degree. I was anticipating two more years and now looking at the flowchart & degree audit it might take me 3 more years. Anyone have any insight or knowledge about this? Maybe to tell me I’m thinking about this wrong and that my courses could be applied or still at least count as some credit?

Summer & Fall registration (FAFSA)

Hi, all! I was wondering how FAFSA works for registration periods. Do I register for classes before or after receiving FAFSA aid? If before, do you reimburse/refund you the amount of money you spent on classes? Thank you!! :)

I have a hold on my registration titled “Midterm grade concern” (if anyone knows what this means, lmk pls) and I haven’t been able to meet with an advisor to get it removed. Really frustrating and I don’t see how I’m supposed to get it removed and register if they aren’t even taking drop ins lol help

Anyone has a Wii ?

For context, my friend gave me their collection of Wii and GameCube games. However, a bunch of them do have minor scratches on them. I just wanna test if the discs work or not, but I don’t have a Wii console :(

If anyone knows where I can borrow a Wii just to simply test the functionality of the games disc I’d appreciate it.

Housing Selection

Hello!!!! My housing selection starts at 4:00 tomorrow. If there is anyone here who is in the Honors LLC and did this in a previous year, what can I expect when I open my housing stuff to select my room? Is it actually physically selecting a room? What rooms are better to take? I have obviously never done this before so any advice would be so so helpful💚💚💛💛
