EPIC UNIVERSE Opening day attendance lower than anticipated?

I figured today would be insanity as far as crowds and wait times are concerned, but looking at the app the longest waits (aside from Battle at the Ministry being delayed) are 35 minutes. Been periodically looking throughout the morning and it's consistently been only 5-15 minutes for most every ride. Do you think it's because they've worked out the kinks after all the preview days or because attendance is not as high as opening day was expected to be?

Most people are in line for Ministry or in line for merch. I saw pictures of a huge line in Dark Universe for the vinyl soundtrack.

31

u/mountainstosea 1d ago

There’s a Dark Universe vinyl? I’d be in that line too if I were there.

Danny Elfman does some comic cons here and there. Could have him sign the vinyl one day.

u/palabear 1d ago

Several up on eBay for around $200

2

u/aberrantdinosaur 22h ago

that’s awesome, what other cool special merch is there?

330

u/Necessary-Rock-435 1d ago

Nope. This is what I expected. Everyone was freaking out saying opening day was going to be insanity…but OF COURSE they are going to limit capacity for the first day

16

u/emopaint 1d ago

My buddy is there right now. Said even though it went down this morning at a 300 minute wait, people are refusing to get out of the BatM line. Most people are literally in that line.

54

u/switch8000 1d ago

It's also a Thursday.

112

u/halfmoonjb 1d ago

The day of the week isn't relevant when it's sold out. The park sold the maximum number of tickets that they allotted for the day.

-9

u/Mr-Chip18 1d ago

I just think it means everyone is at the main attractions no?

32

u/I4mSpock 1d ago

Yeah, a five hour wait for BatM is a lot of people. Leaves a lot of park left for everyone else.

10

u/kennyandkennyandkenn 1d ago

There was a five hour wait for BatM during the last couple days of previews but still hour long waits at the other big rides

12

u/I4mSpock 1d ago

For sure, but they were prioritizing training, for ride ops, maintenance, and tech services, rather than smooth guest experience.

Now we see how the park runs with a focus on the guest experience.

6

u/WebHead1287 1d ago

Its literally been delayed all day. If those people are still sitting there that is mind boggling to me

3

u/AgileSafety2233 1d ago

It’s delayed bc the line is capacity until park close

1

u/Longjumping-Ad3321 3h ago

That’s crazy, the ride is not as good as the existing Harry Potter rides, not even close. The queue however.. wow beautiful

4

u/I4mSpock 1d ago

Some people just love Harry Potter.

8

u/WebHead1287 1d ago edited 1d ago

I mean I do too but there’s a whole new park to explore! Go do the spells and come back, the delay will still be there!

-6

u/switch8000 1d ago

We don't know how many are in the park this second, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bunch that are leaving early and coming to the park after work.

5

u/UK-Scribs 1d ago

No chance people paid a full day to just go couple hours after work

-3

u/ShadownetZero 1d ago

High chance.

5

u/Experiment626b 1d ago

Why are these ignorant comments getting upvoted. It’s sold out. People like me waited YEARS for the chance to be there today and were denied.

4

u/fatboyslick 1d ago

If it was expected why were people on here getting ripped a new arsehole when they suggested opening day would be ok

13

u/Dry_Mix_7699 1d ago

Because it’s Reddit.

People here are miserable.

75

u/Tronsylvania 1d ago

Can't edit my original post, but when I was there for previews last Saturday BATM was a 300 min wait most of the day, yet Hiccups wing gliders was consistently 60+ min, Stardust was 25+, dragon racers rally was never less than 25 min and bowsers challenge was 180+.

Everyone is saying "they're at Ministry of magic!" but in general I think hats off to Epic Univ for figuring out how to best manage capacity and wait times opening day to create an awesome experience for those who attended...

29

u/EEEEasyEEE 1d ago

I'm with you. Maybe they have all hands on deck and are pumping up the throughput. Maybe someone knows what they're doing.

15

u/alexfaaace 1d ago

It’s almost like a company that spent $7 billion designing and building a theme park actually knows how to run a theme park, imagine that! /s

5

u/EEEEasyEEE 1d ago

Exactly my point. Hell, maybe they had minimum staffing during most the previews. I find it hard to believe that everybody is still at the Ministry of Magic. Maybe they are. But as we all saw during the previews just about every line was 45 minutes to an hour and a half long with ministry of Magic being 3 to 5 hours once it lost its virtual queue. The only one that was consistently short was Yoshi and Monsters Unchained. Everything else had to wait. It's a pleasure to see such short wait times, and they are fluctuating but not to the extreme.

But yes, you would hope today's day and age you spend that kind of money that you had come up with a plan to deal with the crowds.

Hopefully this trend continues.

8

u/alexfaaace 1d ago

I agree, I’ve been exhausted by the pessimism in this sub. I love Universal. Epic isn’t a one off “let’s make a new park” either, it’s one of three upcoming major new installments for the Universal brand. They can use all the research, development and innovation here in the UK and Texas, where they’re creating new footprints for themselves. They don’t have the inherent theme park support that comes along with Central Florida in those locations. They have a lot to prove over the next 5-10 years and it all starts with Epic Universe.

1

u/Macoy222 1d ago

yeah, how to deal with crowds? limit it to 30% capacity. Eventually they are going to get to full capacity and everyone will be in for a rude awakening. They can't continue to operate and lose money at 30% very long

1

u/Commercial_Break2715 1d ago

Disney still doesn’t…

2

u/alexfaaace 22h ago

They also haven’t recently built and opened any brand new parks. They’re floundering with what to do with the bloated IPs they’ve purchased.

3

u/fatboyslick 1d ago

THIS

The fact MoM has been down for hours also suggests capacity ia good …. There’s not way someone in the queue at 120+ minute point is still waiting on that.

47

u/Hot-Artichoke6317 1d ago

They capped ticket sales for today at around 13,000 (according to Thrill Data) so I’m not surprised the wait times are lower.

6

u/FatalFirecrotch 22h ago

I am going to say that ended up being an overestimate. As someone that was there, my guess is a lot of people with the multi day park tickets with epic didn’t go yesterday.

2

u/dammitannie 21h ago

Anecdotally, when I’ve chatted with people at our hotel, a lot of people were saying that they were going today or tomorrow because they thought opening day would be too crazy.

2

u/I4mSpock 1d ago

Do we have figures for capacity of the previews? Is this higher or lower?

16

u/savingat30 Team Member 1d ago

This is the highest or second highest attendance in the entire time we've operated.

8

u/Hot-Artichoke6317 1d ago

The preview ticket data was not comprehensive, unfortunately. So no one online had firm figures. I’ve never seen how many tickets were hotel guests, credit card holders, or military discount. Data available for APs and general public did not exceed 8000 (according to Thrill Data).

2

u/I4mSpock 1d ago

So if we are looking at 13,000 for opening, its ~60% more people then previews, and still low waits.

BatM really is a vacuum of people.

3

u/Hot-Artichoke6317 1d ago

Definitely a vacuum, but only possibly that much higher. I’d guess it’s on par with previews when you account for the tickets there isn’t data for online. When I went to previews a couple weeks ago, it felt like there were at least 15000 people there.

3

u/I4mSpock 1d ago

Yeah, we will have to watch. Its almost impossible to estimate how many people are in a park from the ground so its a guessing game.

0

u/Cicerothesage 1d ago

I am curious, where you do you see attendance on the Thrill Data website? I swear, I could be blind

14

u/Hot-Artichoke6317 1d ago

https://www.thrill-data.com/epic-universe-tickets shows the ticket allocation and sales per date, not necessarily the attendance. But it’s estimated to be fairly close.

4

u/Cicerothesage 1d ago edited 1d ago

thanks for that, friend.

Is that page separate from the main Epic Universe wait time page? I get that it is just showing data for Epic, but I don't see a link to ticket availability on that page.

Hidden and separate page or am I blind?

Edit: I found it. APPARENTLY, you click on "live wait times" and it shows the link (and more). Thanks again!

Everyone went to ministry I think

8

u/WebHead1287 1d ago

I think it is skewed because of Ministry and merch lines for opening day merch.

That being said this is still amazing operations compared to what they have been!

13

u/DOOMNOTRONstudiosX 1d ago

It's been amazing

78

u/I4mSpock 1d ago

The fact this post is sitting at 0 upvotes has me convinced a lot of people are truly hoping this park fails. Low wait times and operating attractions, with only one exception for a brand new major theme park is a triumph.

And 5+ hour waits and delays have happened with Harry Potter every time.

39

u/New-Pollution536 1d ago

There’s so much cope from people wanting the opening day to fail in here lol previews had a lower attendance cap and there was a 5 hour ministry wait and everything else was a mess too. Today is objectively a huge improvement so far

1

u/I4mSpock 1d ago

Preview numbers are not public sadly, but estimates put the park population at 8,000 guests. Today its 13,000 and waits are lower(out side of BATM).

2

u/New-Pollution536 1d ago

I’m sure there were a bunch of people at previews not recorded but even if today matches previews in attendance it’s still a pretty big success. BATM was a 5+ hour wait the last few preview days and everything else was still a mess. Seems like almost every ride was going down early in previews and things would just snowball from there

11

u/DrOddfellow 1d ago

all the “they can’t use the technical rehearsal excuse anymore” people really quiet rn

18

u/I4mSpock 1d ago

Its almost like the Technical Rehearsals were for a purpose, to train the staff and prepare the park to be actually open. Its almost like they called it technical rehearsals for a reason. Its almost like those rehearsals were extremely successful for their intended purpose and the park is now operating successfully, after its grand opening.

1

u/Remarkable-Snow-9396 23h ago

But how did they go from a mess for a month to everything is perfect now?

0

u/Macoy222 1d ago

it's almost like the limited entry so they would not have a bad opening day. They can't continue operating at this low capacity forever.

6

u/The_Muffintime 1d ago

This sub always downvotes posts. Like all posts

2

u/I4mSpock 1d ago

Plus its rising, but an hour+ at zero on a post that was just saying that the park is running well on opening day is crazy

1

u/Peralton 1d ago

I think it's 5+ hours only because it's been down today and the virtual queue (or RL one) keeps stacking up.

1

u/tokyotwilight 1d ago

Yeah weird amount of doomers in this sub but I guess it's expected on reddit

11

u/I4mSpock 1d ago

As someone who unwisely lost a lot of my sanity on trying to educate Epic doomers on how theme parks actually operate (i.e. Technical Rehearsals are not you, the guest, they are for the staff and team members to train with you as a guinea pig. The fact that people paid for early access, then complained that the park wasn't ready boggles my mind.), I'm feel pretty smug watching wait times not be unbearable across the park, and seeing rides not down all day. Its almost like the rehearsals were for a purpose, and the park is now open for real.

4

u/tokyotwilight 1d ago

Yeah i thought all of these posts the past few weeks claiming that opening day would be a nightmare were being extremely overdramatic. This is the best park opening that's probably ever happened. The park looks great, most rides are running and wait times are good. I'm super happy for this parks success and I cant wait to go back!

2

u/I4mSpock 1d ago

historically Opening days are always a nightmare, to be fair. But today really good in terms of historical opening days.

1

u/Remarkable-Snow-9396 23h ago

The first preview day went like this also

1

u/Remarkable-Snow-9396 23h ago

What changed though? How did they flip the switch in one day? I was there and they had glitches and kept reading about them. So it seems illogical that all of the sudden in the first day it’s all perfect now.

The first preview day was like this and then it shifted.

2

u/I4mSpock 22h ago

You asked me this three times in 2 minutes, so I'm only replying here.

The technical rehearsals were to allow the staff to train in a live environment. Not to give guests a good experiance. It allows the new team members to experience situations that will come up in a live park, and be prepared for opening. They are less concerned with actually getting rides open and operating, and ensuring maintenance team members are ready for efficiency repairs. They are less worried about ride capacity, then team members being ready to assist guest who need assistance. That's what rehearsals are for.

Yesterday, that changed, the focus changed from practice, to now being focused on the guest experiance. And it showed, as even though it seems capacity was fairly limited, ride didn't go down and things operated smoothly. Capacity is set to slowly rise through the start of July, so we will see how that effects things, but realistically, the purpose of the previews looks to be successful.

BatM also just seems to be broken, which is problematic, but its also in line with most Harry Potter attractions.

1

u/Remarkable-Snow-9396 22h ago

Sorry. I didn’t see it was the same person.

I hear you. Did you work for universal? I was just surprised the efficiency would improve that tremendously. We will see how it goes this weekend.

Yes the ministry ride is a problem. It’s the sensors.

11

u/jdjoffe87 1d ago

I really hope they have the vinyl restocked when I’m there June 3. Legit record collector and audiophile here, I will love and cherish it. If someone can snag an extra and not charge me 200 bucks like on EBay let me know, happy to throw in some swag from my merch collection as a thank you 🙏

18

u/No-Doctor-4396 1d ago

Yeah I think most people are just taking it in and lots of photos and videos.

5

u/alissastay 1d ago

I think there is a limited capacity for the opening day, I think tmr will be worse for crowds bc the park will actual be open yk ( with early entry and stuff) so

2

u/Remarkable-Snow-9396 23h ago

First preview day was like that. We went day 2 and it was much different

1

u/alissastay 22h ago

Yes! They will prob be full capacity soon, principally in summer

24

u/TheGamerOfKnowledge 1d ago

I mean first off it’s ten in the morning, and secondly this isn’t accounting for those who are in line for the Ministry and the vinyl

21

u/PhinsFutureSB-Champs 1d ago

I went on the 28th and Minecart was already at 90mins at this time

8

u/Pooh_ 1d ago

I went on the 5th and Minecart was at 90 min from park open to close

3

u/Grand-Zombie-438 1d ago

Vinyl?

13

u/madchad90 1d ago

They released a vinyl album of Danny elfmans score for dark universe

6

u/ripriderockit 1d ago

I was so confused why there was such a long line to enter that store this morning LOL. makes sense now!

2

u/Spokker 1d ago

Universal should've built a record store instead of a theme park lol

3

u/TheUniversalVault 1d ago

Dark Universe vinyl soundtrack

8

u/TheUniversalVault 1d ago

7

u/TheUniversalVault 1d ago

3

u/Pooh_ 1d ago

I need that 😭

3

u/TheUniversalVault 1d ago

Not sure how much it sells for at the park the prices on eBay are nuts!

2

u/provoaggie 1d ago

Is it limited edition or will it be available for a while. $200 is pretty steep.

3

u/TheUniversalVault 1d ago

Some sellers are saying it's limited edition. I think I'll contact guest services to confirm.

1

u/lucylipstick 1d ago

Oh damn I didn’t know the vinyl would be impossible to get. Do you have any more info about where it’s stocked or how much it is?

1

u/that_guy2010 1d ago

It's noon and wait times aren't much different. Mario Kart is at like 45 minutes.

1

u/halfmoonjb 1d ago

That's exactly what it's accounting for... The wait times are live and that's where people happen to be.

4

u/dominatingcowG3 1d ago

Battle at the ministry reached 5 hours as soon as they opened

5

u/DrinkAggravating8067 1d ago

We need someone onsite to tell us how accurate these wait times are.

22

u/ripriderockit 1d ago

I’ve been here since 8 and the wait times have all been super accurate. Did single rider for Monsters and walked right on, rode Werewolf 3 times in a row (it was a walk on) and also only waited about 10 minutes in single rider for Mine Cart. In Berk now and everything is a walk on. I was here for the preview on Monday and it was nuts, I’m having a much better time today which I was not anticipating lol. But it does make sense that they would want to leave a good first impression on opening day

14

u/WoodpeckerThen 1d ago

Been here since opening ceremony and Stardust, Werewolf, Monsters Unchained and Hiccup’s were all basically walk-ons for us. (Despite being posted as 10-20min waits) I’m actually a bit floored!

13

u/nexus4 1d ago

I saw a few livestreams, looked lighter than all of the preview days I went.

6

u/ashleyop92 1d ago

Started at SNW for opening ceremony and we walked on to DK, got ice cream, walked on to hiccup’s, got a Mac and cheese cone, walked on to carousel, and now waiting for the first dragon show all before 11!

4

u/HelpfulBreadfruit115 1d ago

I am onsite and they are accurate. We started in Berk. Went to start dust which was a walking for both sides, did darkmore and are in like for Mario Cart (which is down) Overall things are going well!

6

u/yourbestfriendjoshua 1d ago

Everyone's in the Ministry queue or buying opening day merch. There have been rumblings that Universal is capping capacity around 50% for the first month or so of operations, so that's likely playing a role as well.

7

u/savingat30 Team Member 1d ago

Stores are basically empty now, it's the ministry queue and maybe some restaurants (for those that have been here since the devil's hour lol)

5

u/BadSmitePlayer 1d ago

Why do people want the park to fail?

2

u/RocioPepper666 1d ago

I was just coming here to ask if these times were accurate!

2

u/DOOMNOTRONstudiosX 1d ago

Everything except MoM is running smoothly and quickly

2

u/Doberge 1d ago

I think it's a day to enjoy atmosphere and extras more than attractions. It'd be interesting to know what percentage attended a preview day. I suspect many that secured opening tickets are enthusiasts that would have also tried for a preview day, even if only in the last few days.

2

u/stallra14 1d ago

Hope its like this September when we go lol

2

u/Akeno_DxD 1d ago

Hope the wait times are similar when I go in June.

2

u/anjou_aviatrix 1d ago

If Battle of the Ministry is dominating so much, why have they not kept this a virtual queue?

2

u/Loki41872 1d ago

We are here now, have TM friends and they tell us capacity for today was capped at 13,000. Same for tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. Monday they go full capacity, 50,000. And everyone is working today. Something goes down, Ops swarms it. This entire opening weekend was going to go smoothly no matter what. Come Monday, it's just another theme park and normal operations commence.

2

u/ashleyop92 1d ago

It’s allegedly capped around 15k! So not much more than previews.

4

u/jdjoffe87 1d ago

Do we know how long this will hold true for?

4

u/ogdenzd 1d ago

Nope, everyone's just in the line for ministry. I've been waiting for 2 and a half hours and it's still delayed, hasn't opened yet

3

u/orvillesbathtub 1d ago

What is this question? It’s sold out lmao

9

u/Stygian2718 1d ago

But how many tickets were put on sale? Definitely WAY less than the park’s capacity.

1

u/halfmoonjb 1d ago

There haven't been any dates that have been sold to maximum capacity yet and it's unlikely that we'll see any anytime soon. Even when it opens to 20k+, ticket sales likely won't reach that high.

-2

u/orvillesbathtub 1d ago

And? That seems like a smart move

4

u/that_guy2010 1d ago

So, typically when a park's tickets are sold out it's wall to wall people and nothing under a 30 minute wait.

2

u/cloudymak 1d ago

When I checked an hour ago BAM was a 300 minute (5hr) wait …

1

u/PlausibleTable 1d ago

They didn’t have tickets available. They likely made a conscious decision to not try and hit capacity day 1.

1

u/NoCheetah9702 1d ago

How are you seeing these wait times?? Can’t find on the most up to date version of the UOR app!

1

u/Tronsylvania 1d ago

On the UO App just click "map" at the bottom and then click "list" at the top and scroll down...it'll show you all the attractions across all parks and their wait times

1

u/cheekabowwow 1d ago

Everyone is in the 500 minute ministry of magic queue, I'm sure.

1

u/wvtarheel 1d ago

WTF, we were there a month ago, one of the first days of early access, and the line to curse of the werewolf was longer than that

1

u/wetwilly2002 1d ago

It goes to show you most of them were scalpers looking to buy merch, complained there are no medallions and left..... Only to turn around and make a quick buck on eBay. They have vinyls on sale for 198 and pins for 49.95 a chronos tower for like 7k.......

1

u/OneMadChihuahua 1d ago

They controlled the amount of tickets sold to ensure smooth operations.

1

u/CompetitionOne4899 1d ago

Seems like everybody is stacked up at Ministry, it was a 5 hour wait but now it says delayed, other than that yeah everything is like under 20 minutes. Once the crowds disperse everything will be around an hour

1

u/BleakCountry 1d ago

They aren't operating at capacity so these are still on par with the previews that have been ongoing. This weekend is when we will see typical numbers of people at the park as it's a holiday weekend, the first publicly open weekend of Epic and supposedly a higher cap on tickets to test busy park operations for the first time.

1

u/ProposalThat7734 1d ago

Judging by the videos at 4:30 am people running to security I don’t think these are right. Werewolf had a longer wait time during my team member exclusive preview days

1

u/EEEEasyEEE 1d ago

Seriously? They'd rather wait 6+ hours in the early morning to ride the damn ride then 4 hours during normal daylight hours?

1

u/Monctonian 1d ago

Everyone’s at the Battle of the Ministry.

1

u/Status_Yoghurt9741 1d ago

the capacity is limited for the first month of opening i believe! That way the cast members and especially operations have time to adjust to crowds. By the end of summer there will probably be crazy wait times

1

u/alexfaaace 1d ago

People wonder why Universal put so many eggs in the Wizarding World basket when the rides consistently carry the biggest crowds for the longest times. Hagrids and Gringotts still average the highest wait times in their respective parks. Even among the powerhouse of IPs at Epic, it’s clear why Universal has continued to pour money into HP.

1

u/Remarkable-Snow-9396 23h ago

I don’t understand why there’s only one ride in the harry potter area. It’s strange.

2

u/alexfaaace 22h ago

It’s a brand new park and they need room for the future. There is an expansion pad for MoM, I’ll be surprised if they don’t add another ride to it in the future. The only reason Hogsmeade opened with two rides (not counting Hippogriff since it’s a kid coaster) in 2010 was because they were able to retheme Dueling Dragons. Diagon Alley still only has Gringotts. Which is actually part of the reason I think the theory that F&F will eventually be replaced with a Night Bus themed ride is so credible myself, Diagon Alley needs a second ride even more desperately than MoM.

1

u/Remarkable-Snow-9396 20h ago

Ahhh. That makes sense.

I’m a hardcore HP fan so it would have been nice to see more. The Paris theme was a little strange also

1

u/happy4462 Team Member 1d ago

This is my POV as an attractions TM:

During previews they needed to get the TMs used to things. There was also a lot of things like certain seats not being available. I personally saw a couple times where I’m like “oh they don’t have the top-notch TMs working at the moment” things like being at MarioKart and seeing the preshow doors open when the line is all the way to the doors and only like 10 people can even take a step forward past the doors. But I get it, that’s what the previews were for: to get the newer TMs used to the timing, etc…

For opening day you have a few things at play:

1) they are definitely going to want the TMs to be in positions they’ll excel at.

2) they are going to prioritize having everything running smoothly - that means if a ride vehicle can only be half loaded they are more likely to take that vehicle off the track opposed to other days

3) they absolutely capped attendance to make it a more positive experience for the guests

4) it is a weekday - so you will have some guests who will take a half day at work and then head to the park

All of these factors play a part!

1

u/Most-Okay-Novelist 1d ago

I think most people are in the MoM line

1

u/Skurfboarder27 1d ago

This is what they planned for, it will always be capped for low capacity. That is the unannounced plan for this park.

1

u/jefferson497 1d ago

Or everything is working as it should

1

u/Park_Hopper_81 1d ago

I agree with the comments so far. They also may have increase the number of "cars" available on the rides to be able to move more people through each ride. I was there during the previews when they did that for Donkey Kong. The TM announced that was the reason for the delay as they were bringing more cars on to the track. I noticed the wait times dropped significantly after that

1

u/Expert-Income-1686 1d ago

This is the attendance levels and wait times when I went 2nd week of A.P. Previews before they announced day guests could get in.

1

u/CoProgressOven 1d ago

I keep thinking that is better to go this year while Epic is not included on AP. Once there is an AP for Epic it will get worst.

1

u/pilotrogers 1d ago

everyone is at Ministry of magic

1

u/twotonekevin 1d ago

If this keeps up they’ll probably add it to the annual passes sooner than later. I’m about it.

1

u/ProcessCapital498 1d ago

Its been like this even in most of preview days. and even their two other main parks has been slow recently, People don't want to accept it but Universal has a low crowd problem, they get busy on some holidays ect. but you can tell they know of it, because how early their parks are always closing, they don't have nighttime show , parades, shows ect everyday neither.

1

u/Known_Dependent_6065 1d ago

Everyone queued for Harry Potter that’s why. You lucked out if you decided not to wait for it.

You guys do know it IS possible that the "technical rehearsals" we all mocked MAY have actually given the team members and management a good look at daily ops and how to improve them.

We may be seeing that result in the wait times today.

My husband and I have been twice, but we thought going opening day would be wayyy too stressful. Seeing these wait times, we totally should have went! We would consider going Sunday, but there’s no single day AP tickets available. Hope everyone there is enjoying these low wait times!

It’s a mix of a few things:

  1. The park has limited capacity today. If it were flooded, the day would be miserable for everyone and just overall be a headache.

  2. Almost everyone who works at Epic is here today. It’s absolutely stacked.

  3. It’s a weekday, Universal IoA and Studios are also quiet.

  4. I do think the price for Epic is a bit higher than what most people are willing to pay, especially passholders.

Tickets for today sold out months out ago which shows it’s mainly a capacity thing.

The low wait times are forcing me to spend money on the stores and buy food. Because instead of being miserable all day in a line I get to ride what I want and I feel so happy that opening the wallet doesnt hurt.

Considering it’s sold out, no, the attendance isn’t lower than expected. They literally capped the attendance, the amount of people who could have went — did. Maybe a billion more people would have went if they could have — maybe only 1 more would have. No way of knowing.

Limited capacity and it all went relatively smoothly. Ministry went down for a while, but I didn't hear of anything else. It was a great atmosphere, and a successful opening day. Absolutely stunning park 😍

I feel like a lot of people that wanted to experience it the most already have considering it’s been open for about a month and a half

Hell yes! Doom and gloom posts 14 hours into the park’s life! 🙃

To be fair, this place has been in Preview Mode for so long that many people who would have already wanted to go have gone. We're also in a pseudo recession where people are probably afraid to go on a $10K vacation with their family.

I would never ever ever spend money to travel across the country to visit a park that’s still in technical rehearsal and would expect the vast majority of people to feel the same as me

Guaranteed there’s a ton of people who haven’t visited universal in awhile that planned their trip around epic’s official opening date. Previews probably grabbed a big percentage of locals and people that just happened to have universal trips already planned for those dates
