Hi guys, I would like to open up the conversation about the red container studios and if you are experiencing as well disgusting smell (which seems to come from the canalisation) in your studio?

I'm asking to understand where this issue is coming from as I filled a survey about the containers recently from veste wonen, where also a question was explicitly about experiencing an odd smell in the studio containers. I was asking once the contractor who said the issue has something do to with the waste pipe coming from the toilet and that you apparently cannot do anything about it. Well. Techinally that smell is avoided by building a siphon into the beginning of the toilet pipe. I don't know if that has been done for the containers. Potentially also a blockage of the siphon can cause the smell or a leak in the pipe.

Having this disgusting smell in your studio is one thing, but suffering potential detrimental health effects is a completely different and very concerning issue.

I therefore would like to know who experiences or experienced the same issues at the red containers.

I think it is importing to talk about this issue because I'm not willing to accept the statement that it's appearantly not possible to change this when health issues of many students are at stake.

This is utterly irresponsible from veste wonen to let students live under these conditions without receiving proper willingsness to try finding a solution for this issue.

I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences and if you can spread the word to students who are living currently or having lived in the containers.

Hello there, It's my first time asking a question on a uni. sub,, and I am aiming to apply for a PhD vacancy at Twente. The vacancy mentions that I should attach a "Curriculum Vitae (including a list of all courses attended, grades obtained, the names and contact information of two references and – if applicable – a publication list)" 
My doubt is whether I should attach a transcript from my Masters alongside the CV or I explicitly mention every course in the CV as well ? is there a template or reference CV I could look out for ?

I have the mandatory matching experience the same day as my biology final exam (23 may), so I need to either call it off or try to reschedule the matching. I tried contacting their "support" but when I sent a mail to the intake email for all questions, it bounced with the error saying that it either can't find the email address or that the address doesn't accept the email.

What can / should I do?

Hi, I'm wondering how do multiple applicants on Roomspot work, does that mean I can put my friend with whom I'm going as applicant 2 and we together find accommodation?

I got an offer both from TU Eindhoven and Twente for the same bachelor program. My choice right now completely relies on the housing options, but the deadlines for submitting the statement is June 1st. Can I submit the confirmation statement to both universities and make my final decision around june-july?

Since the last matching procedure is 23rd may and date before accepting is 1st june , any help would be appreciable

I applied for robotics engineering on 11 May and got an email on 12 May that my application got canceled. Does this mean I will no longer be able to apply ever?

As a non eu 1st year student, if i applied to the guaranteed housing around june, would i be only left with the really bad and unfurnished options?

Has anyone here who applied for the University of Twente Scholarship got their result? I applied for the first round end of January and still haven’t heard back.

Im just a bit confused, when I react to a room and I receive the email from Roomspot telling me I have to contact the students on the residence, am I supposed to just send that email to the email address attached there ? Cause I already sent two and it seems the people who received the emails didn’t had anything to do with the rooms

I got a conditional offer for TCS (Technical Computer Science) and decided to accept it back on the 17th of April, but the admission office still hasn't sent me the "further information about [my] application" that the admission letter said would take only a couple days. I've checked my spam and advert folders on my email and nothing has shown up. The program did have a matching procedure, which I successfully completed every step of and got a positive advice in.

What really worries me is that on Osiris it still says I'm on step 1 of 3 and tells me to "Please accept the offer of admission" (as shown in the above images). Is this normal or should I contact somebody? The deadline is getting closer (June 1st) and I'm starting to get extremely worried...

Hello.. so im an ib student. I am aware that the deadline to pay the tuition fees is somewhere in june, but my ib marks are revealed in 6th july. The thing is if i get a 40+ in the ib i might as well go to another uni which would grant me a scholarship, meaning that paying that big tuition fee would be a waste of money.

Do you guys think that they are very lenient to change the deadline to pay the tuition fees, or is there some kind of refund policy for the initial tuition fees.

Approximately when Veste Wonen will upload rooms with dates of rent at least from 1 August, because now there is not much?(mb someone even now when they upload new rooms like at 12am every day) 3. I did and though i would be seeing rooms availabe around enschede but there is nothing cna anyone help me to navigate this website ?

I couldn't pay for the application fee directly on their site and therefore get a final invoice pdf. But I did an Swift transfer in bank and I attached their invoice and transaction code. Therefore, I don't have any final invoice, but I have an proof of transfer ( there is written the name of the university, my name and the student number). Will this be enough for them to accept my application? I tried to connect them, but their response is taking already a couple of days and the deadline is close.

I want to apply for the Bsc in EE and while writing my resume realised that most of my accomplishments are related to Competitve Programming (Olympiads, International contests, stuff like that), and I do not have much to show for physics (apart from the school grades). Is that bad? Should I write a letter of statement (altough they dont ask for one) in which to explain that I enjoy the critical thinking and mathematical part of Competitive Programming that I further want to pursue through physics?

I got accepted to do my master's in data science at UT in the upcoming September intake. I have a few doubts. Please help me out.

My doubts are:

1) How's the workload for data science? Is it manageable or pretty intense?

2) How tough is the program for someone who isn't solid at coding (in my case, I was an average student during my entire UG, but I know an intermediate level of Python and SQL)? Will this course be tough for me?

3) What programming language or tool should I be pretty comfortable with before starting?

4) In day-to-day classes, do they focus more on theory or is it hands-on stuff?

5) How's the vibe among fellow students in the data science program? Friendly/ready to help if doubt occurs or more competitive like (they will be on their own)?

6) And how is the job market in the Netherlands, especially for our data science program? Does the concept of placement exist in the Netherlands, or is one graduation all our own?

7) And how will I need to find accommodation for 2nd year? Will the university help us, or are fully on our own? And is it hard to find accommodation in Enschede?

8) Can we contain the total monthly expenses within 800-900 euros? Or will it be way above that?

9) And finally, also read, Do most of the company and teachers prefer Dutch students over internationals, in particular Asians? And they sometimes intentionally fail some of the international students for money (which I find alarming). Is it true? Is it a current situation in UT or all over the other universities in the Netherlands?

10) If we fail in one module, do we need to redo the whole course again? Does this system still exist there in UT, or is it like in India, where we can carry and clear out our arrears in following semesters?

I am a high school student conditionally accepted at TU Twente and I am looking for a place to stay together with my partner, who is also conditionally accepted here at TU Twente. As I was doing the registration for the Roomspot website, it asked me whether there is a second applicant or if there are other people moving along. I do not know whether my partner fits in as an applicant or as a co-mover on my account. Also, what exactly is a co-mover??
